Day to day primary functions:

What we require from you:

Our Behavior Technicians are a critical part of our team. Our BTs provide individualized services in a 1:1 teaching format to children with autism in our clinics and occasionally. MAC will provide all of the necessary training you will need to start your career as a Behavior Technician, as well as opportunities to grow with us through professional development, mentorship, and training. Our training program provides you with the tools you need to be successful as you learn to apply and implement behavior analytical techniques under the direct supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst.
Essential Functions:
Work 1:1 with children and young adults with autism by applying and implementing behavior analytical techniques that increase communication, self-help, and social and play skills under the direct supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst
Utilize positive reinforcement and antecedent modification to increase appropriate behaviors over time
Use the appropriate/prescribed ratio of reinforcement for each client
Assist in the development and maintenance of instructional materials
Maintain accurate records of client performance/progress via data collection and/or clinical notes through an online and paper data collection system
Manage any inappropriate behaviors that occur
Keep clients motivated to learn through preference assessments
Communicate confidentially and professionally with behavior analysts, teachers, parents, and principals
Respond appropriately to feedback and/or correction
Report concerns directly and promptly to your supervising BCBA
Toilet training and diaper changing may be required

Education, Experience and Skills:
Must have a minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred
Experience/strong interest in working with children with autism or other developmental disabilities
18 years of age or older
First Aid/CPR certification is required
Ability to change one's own behavior as directed by the BCBA
Ability to communicate effectively with others

Must have reliable transportation to travel to clinic

Must be able to obtain RBT certification within 60 days of hire if working in PA and within 45 days of hire if working in MD
Services are provided exclusively in clinic however occasional in home and community services may be required
Minimum Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand and move for 100% of the day
Ability to push, pull, lift and carry up to 30 pounds occasionally during the work day
Stamina and ability to work all assigned hours
Ability to move freely, quickly and frequently from a sitting (on the floor or in a chair) to standing position
