Adapt teaching methods to meet the individual needs of each client. Collaboration and Communication: Work collaboratively with the BCBA, families, and other members of the client's support team. Communicate effectively with clients' families, providing updates on progress and strategies to support skill development at home. Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and supervision meetings. Professional Development: Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in ABA. Maintain RBT certification through continuous education and adherence to ethical standards. Qualifications: Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Education, or a related field preferred. Certification: Current certification as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) from the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB). CPR and First Aid certification preferred. Duties and Responsibilities: Coordinates and transports clients safely to all daily activities, ensuring the clients arrive on time to all scheduled activities, and ensures participant safety. Utilizes intervention and communication skills in working with clients, their families and significant others daily and in crisis. Rigorously adheres to all Joint Commission policies and procedures, including Waived Testing, Infection Prevention and Control, as well as Emergency Management and Environment of Care procedures. Proficiently navigate and utilize the BestNotes electronic health record system to document client activities effectively Collaborate with the program nurse and clinical team regarding medication management, and monitor and report client behavior with medication side effects. Monitor and document client self-administration medications while coaching clients in self-management and documenting medications in accordance with the organization's policy on medication use. Family-home environment 15-20 hours/week, with a varied, flexible work schedule Assignments within 15 minutes from your residence What your day as a Behavioral Health Technician will look like: At the child's home, you will adapt teaching techniques to various physical and mental behaviors to provide one-on-one developmental and behavioral support, understanding some patient styles may be more confrontational than others. For guided help, you will partner with a Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to implement individualized behavioral intervention plans which may include many physical and mental exercises to provide optimal support to your assigned child. You will use you evidence-based techniques to engage actively with children with physical activity which may include standing, walking, sitting, grasping, reaching, bending, kneeling, crouching, squatting, lifting and at times carrying children or objects that weigh up to 50 pounds. Patience and compassion with the ability to work well in a team environment. A high school diploma or GED and at least 18 years of age Ability to obtain a CPR, First Aid Certification and Tuberculosis test (if you haven't had one in the past year) Ability to pass a pre-employment background check.
