Job Functions:
Registered Behavior Technicians (RBT) will work with the elementary age children in a group setting for CREATE therapeutic programming within the therapeutic afterschool environment serving homeless children and families in our onsite housing programs. Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Lead prescribed individual or group therapy sessions as part of specific therapeutic procedures under the guidance of a licensed mental health professional.
As needed, complete initial intake interviews and complete required forms for new patients on behalf of the licensed mental health provider.
Collect and maintain monthly statistical data assigned work place.

Prepare and maintain attendance rosters and statistical data for all active duty personnel who attended Social Work/Behavioral Health services.
Assist in developing program-operating instructions, works with providers to uncover inefficiencies, and makes recommendations for corrective action.
Make comparison reviews, to include office time sheets, to ensure program operations are managed within budget.
Be responsible for the development and implementation of appointment templates for clinical providers.
Place physical maintenance work orders and maintain hand receipts for physical property and inventory. Ensure proper supply stock levels and reorder as necessary including specialized behavioral health forms and tests.
Duties also involve assisting or independently gathering data for various presentations such as process improvements initiatives, longitudinal statistical tracking, hospitalizations, and discharges. Manipulates data and presents it using off the shelf software applications. Provide information via telephone and in person to the members of the Command, the professional staff, civilian and military personnel in response to inquiries regarding appointments.
Interface frequently with the Command's family support organizations.
Maintain competency folders in accordance with program policy.
Coordinate attendance and agenda at Case Review Committee with military and civilian agencies.
Coordinate and reserve meeting location, verifies attendance and prepares current and tentative following weeks agenda.
Prepare open and closed case reports for required special handling of outpatient medical records in accordance with regulations.
Maintain a resource library for use by professional staff and customers. Library materials are selected with the intent of providing knowledge, ideas and support to practitioners in the fields of education, clinical social work and family studies.
Provide services to families desiring information on healthy family life and parenting skills.
Required Education/Experience/Skills/Training:
Must be a US Citizen.
This position requires a Secret Clearance or Top Secret Clearance, or the ability to obtain a clearance.
An associate degree or commensurate level of training, e.g. military mental health technician, for a psychiatric technician or mental health program assistant. Education requirement may be met by military or comparable training. If military trained, the individual's specialty must be as a mental health technician / specialist.
The contractor shall have no less than 3 years' experience as a psychiatric technician.
Must attend psychiatric technicians' training which will provide a sound foundation / basis to psychology and/or social work to ensure the tech is prepared for the types of individuals and potential illnesses that they will likely deal with. This training shall also address the basics of conflict management, how to de-escalate crisis situations and individuals who are agitated, violent or potentially violent and/or suicidal.

Key Responsibilities:
This Mental Health Technician 1 supervises a group of 7-10 youth through activities during waking and non-waking hours. While unobtrusively providing external controls necessary to ensure safety and security, Mental Health Technicians guide and teach youth the internal controls needed to live responsibly when and where external controls are relaxed. Job Functions:
Registered Behavior Technicians (RBT) will work with the elementary age children in a group setting for CREATE therapeutic programming within the therapeutic afterschool environment serving homeless children and families in our onsite housing programs. The RBT's goal on each team is to implement and monitor group interventions and individual behavioral plans as outlined by the Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and in conjunction with multiple disciplines to assure a calm and nurturing environment. Essential Responsibilities:
Observes and identifies the functions of behavior of individuals in a group setting, offering caregivers and staff tools that promote pro-social skill development & positive interactions.
Utilizes Trauma-Informed Behavior Support (TIBS) and Positive Behavior Supports as interventions with trauma-informed care principles to help explain the etiology of behavior, decrease reactivity, help create an environment of empathy and attunement, and promote positive relationships and pro-social skill building in a group residential setting for children.
Implements the behavior plan, including the training sessions, overall procedures, informal procedures or protocols, and the crisis intervention plan, if any.

Job Description
Mental Health Technician I is responsible for assisting and supporting patients through the entire treatment experience from admission through discharge. MH Tech 1 responsibilities primarily include ensuring patient safety, providing milieu interventions, leading psychoeducational groups, and supporting patients as they navigate the treatment process. As the Tech team is available to the patient on a twenty-four hour basis, careful patient monitoring and communication with the treatment team is essential. Reports to Facility Manager/Program Director.
Responsibilities
Orients new patient to the treatment program, its requirements, intent, and routine. Completes needed assessments within 24 hours of admission.
Determines whether the new patient has any special needs, communicates those needs to the treatment team and assists the patient in fulfilling those needs.
Monitors all patients through the treatment experience, keeping patients in line of site in the milieu and checking on patients in bedrooms or other areas on a regular basis.
Contributes to the well-being of all patients by serving as a positive role model, demonstrating professional and caring manner toward co-workers, patients, and guests. Treat all patients, guests and co-workers respectfully and courteously.
Facilitates treatment plan set forth by the Therapist by providing day-today support to patients and if patients need to “check-in”, help patients engage in a positive coping skill. Directs patients in a clear, concise, and informative manner.
Understands the importance of structure by following the house rules and group schedule each shift.
Responsible for running and engaging patients in therapeutic groups such as coping skills, relapse prevention, psycho education, Life Skills, etc. for the expected length of time identified in the Program Schedule. Also assists in providing group ideas.
As Technicians are the “eyes and ears” of the milieu, they are responsible for documenting any behaviors that occur in the milieu in a very thorough and appropriate manner. Must maintain confidential nature of all patient and program related activities.
Answers telephone promptly and politely. Transfers any inquiries they are unable to assist with to the Therapist, Milieu Manager or Program Director.
Maintains a clean environment by completing the cleaning required on the shift worked and documenting.
We have both full time and part time positions available, working the afternoon shift from 2:30pm - 10:30pm.

Qualifications
High School Diploma
Bachelors degree OR one year experience working with MH or with adolescents
Must attend all training, education, and staff enrichment activities
This includes monthly on line trainings, in person trainings and trainings as assigned.
Must possess a current Driver's License in good standing
Must be CPI and CPR/First Aid certified within 90 of employment with Discovery
