provide one-to-one support to the client, parents, and behaviorists in a school, clinic, and/or home setting.
be responsible for developing behavioral strategies and creating a behavior plan to best meet the needs of each client.
train, supervise, and mentor your team of behaviorists by using the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA).

Purpose:

The Intervention Specialist is required to adhere to all regulations outlined in Operating Standards for Ohio Educational Agencies Serving Children with Disabilities.
Responsibilities:
Insure that all students identified with a disability are given the same learning opportunities as non-disabled students;
Work closely with the classroom teacher in making sure that student needs are met, IEP goals are taught and IEP provisions are followed;
Plan and deliver instruction to identified students in the classroom or intervention room, in small group or 1-on-1 as needed to help students meet IEP goals;
Allot time with each student based on IEP's Specifically Defined Services and learning goals;
Make recommendations to teachers on ways to best meet the needs of students;
Proactively communicate with Principal if students are not making the expected progress;
Develop behavior plans for students whose behavior interferes with their or others' learning and monitor progress;
Assist with designing intervention and monitoring response to intervention for students who are struggling, but not identified for special education services;
Meet compliance deadlines for IEP's and ETR's;
Maintain and update school Special Education Planning file as meetings take place;

Use school selected software to write IEPs;
Organize and conduct team meetings for IEPs and ETRs;
Make any changes to IEPs based on team decisions;
Obtain signatures at team meeting and provide final copy to parent;
Maintain Special Education Files;
Maintain sign out log for all Special Education files;
Update Special Education Files as needed;
Complete Progress Reports;
Create IEP progress report template with updated goals following any IEP meeting in which goals were revised;
Work with classroom teacher to monitor goals and update the progress report each semester;
Make sure all dates are in compliance with deadlines specified by law;
Complete all Special Education EMIS required reporting;
Update Section 504 plans yearly;
Meet with parents to revise 504 plans;
Facilitate Testing Accommodations during State testing. Evaluation of Intervention;
Establish effective working relationship with the students' families to facilitate progress toward IEP goals;
Maintains student confidentiality; and

What You Will be Doing
Primary job responsibility is to effectively work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to develop and implement instruction to students with autism spectrum disorders (ASD) and co-occurring disorders (including behavior disorders) using the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) in small group, intensive instruction, and designing functional learning activities in the natural environment. Intervention Specialist will monitor and report on progress students make toward identified educational goals in grades pre-k through 12th grade (depending upon classroom placement). Intervention Specialist will demonstrate an understanding and application of ABA principles and procedures, guide classroom support staff in assisting with educational instruction activities and implementation of designated intensive teaching sessions, and will lead designated skill set/project meetings in collaboration with supervisors. Intervention Specialists will attend regular meetings with the clinical team. This is a contracted, full-time (9-10 month) position with paid time off during the summer per the established educational calendar.
Primary Job Responsibilities
Implement effective training methods/curriculum for assigned moderate-sized caseload of students diagnosed with autism, developmental disabilities and related disorders. May be called upon to help develop curriculum for students outside of primary classroom. (Boundless serves students in the range of pre-k to 12th grade: 3 years to 22 years old)
Create lesson plans and prepares materials for the current week (as appropriate) and the following week, coordinating down time activities, and ensure this information is shared with all necessary staff members
Manages the Individual Education Plan (IEP) process for all students on caseload including monitoring dates, scheduling with school and family, development goals, running meetings, completes required paperwork to assist with Evaluation Team Reports (ETR), and other educational forms for students
Work with clinical staff to develop and implement program modifications and strategies for all students.
Complete required paperwork including assessments, quarterly progress reports, report cards (as applicable), graduation portfolios, and documents related to billing based on student funding source.
Guide Behavior Technicians (aides) that support students on academic-based interventions and programming.
Meeting the standards of and preparing students for ODE required testing and coordinate modifications/accommodations that are required (as necessary). This may include students outside of the IS's primary caseload.
Communicate regularly with parents/clinical staff of students to insure that their IEP goals are being met, and that their needs are addressed in a timely and appropriate fashion.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date data on each student including updating and monitoring data sheets for support staff.
Correctly implement and monitor classroom behavior management system and designated student's specific behavior plans in collaboration with direct supervisor (as applicable)
Responsible for following accrediting bodies' policies and procedure including ODE, CARF and Mental Health and others that do not fall under the previously listed accrediting bodies.
Uses professional language at all times included but not limited to describing the children's deficits and/or behaviors
Lift and transport children across the room or as necessary while maintaining their safety
