Have current licensure or certification in the state of Maryland

Have two years of appropriate experience as an Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) and a satisfactory grade on a proficiency exam conducted, approved or sponsored by the U.S. Public Health Service when initial qualification occurred before December 31, 1977
Have at least one years work experience under the supervision of a qualified Physical Therapist.

As a home care Occupational Therapist, you will be an integral member of a multi-disciplinary health care team that provides rehabilitative care and skilled nursing to clients, affording them the opportunity to receive the medical care required to remain at home.
Occupational Therapist, OT Responsibilities:
Make home visits to clients in designated geographic territories.
Perform thorough evaluations of patients functional status, including muscle function, endurance, visual coordination, written and verbal communication skills, and ADL and IADL performance.
Assess cognitive, psychological and motor aspects of performance and develop individualized intervention plans to achieve favorable outcomes.
Evaluate home environment for hazards or barriers to more independent living.
Identify equipment needs and environmental adaptations resulting in enhanced outcomes for clients.
Continually assess and revise the occupational therapy care plan, and participate with nursing in the multidisciplinary care plan, as appropriate.
Educate and instruct patients, family members, or other patient representatives, in rehabilitative care and activities necessary to promote the client's health, safety and independent living.

Occupational Therapist, OT Qualifications:
A current Maryland Occupational Therapist license.

A minimum of one year of recent work experience as an Occupational Therapist.
Graduation from an occupational therapy program accredited jointly by the Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation of the AMA and the AOTA, as indicated by school transcript or diploma.
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
Strong interpersonal skills, organizational skills, and problem solving skills.

This role organizes patient specimens collected by the phlebotomy team, prepares specimens for analysis or send-out to outside labs, and enters specimen information into the hospital database. This role also enters requisitions, and orders laboratory testing.

Schedule: Monday – Friday, likely from 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., with some flexibility. No weekends or holidays.
Purpose:
Receive, sort, identify, process, and distribute specimens to all technical sections. Enter requisition information into the computer system; call statistical results, answer phone, code charge slips, train new employees and perform related clerical duties.
Responsibilities:

Monitor pneumatic tube and courier deliveries to ensure timely processing of specimens.

Verify patient specimens such as blood, urine and other body fluids with requisitions or labels, making certain that information on the specimens match any paperwork received and correct specimen.
Properly request in the Laboratory Information System laboratory information system if needed.
Prepare, package and send specimens to outside locations as needed.
Receive, sort and prioritize ALL specimens according to the laboratory policies.
Share specimens as necessary.
Notify supervisor of problems and of any requests that need credited or clarified.
Disinfect the work area after shift and during shift, if needed.
Participates in the orientation and training of new laboratory specimen processors.
Perform routine technical and related clerical duties as directed.

As a home care Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) you will assist clients in attaining or maintaining optimal physical well being by providing treatment, tests, client education and appropriate interventions as delegated by a licensed Physical Therapist.
**Each Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) must:**
+ Have current licensure or certification in the state of **Maryland**
+ Have graduated from a two-year college level program approved by the American Physical Therapy Association, as indicated by school transcript or diploma, or
+ Have two years of appropriate experience as an Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) and a satisfactory grade on a proficiency exam conducted, approved or sponsored by the U.S. Public Health Service when initial qualification occurred before December 31, 1977
+ Have at least one year's work experience under the supervision of a qualified Physical Therapist.
+ Other activities, as requested.
