Summary
Under general supervision, the Lead Server is responsible for leading the services of a la carte, conference dining, and special event functions and Assisting in the training and development of the service team.
Essential Functions:
Oversees the servicing of all dining and special event activities.
Works closely with the kitchen by evaluating service, food quality, and efficiency.
Monitors cleanliness and upkeep of the dining areas and the equipment used by the service staff.
Ensures daily pre-shift and post-shift side work is completed to standard.
Delegates responsibilities to the wait staff.
Ensures that the service and presentation standards are maintained through the staff.
Maintains open lines of communication between the Kitchen and Food and Beverage Staff.
Reviews Banquet Event Orders (BEO) for directions and changes.
Maintains a good level of employee and guest relations.
Ability to work as a bartender during banquet and event functions.
Communicate any conflicts or problems with staff or clients to the Food and Beverage Manager.
Enforces rules of conduct and discipline in accordance with the rules and regulations set forth in the Employee Handbook.
Solves problems associated with overseeing the services of conference dining and special event functions.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Education, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
Excellent interpersonal skills, including customer service skills.

Ability to “up-sell” items such as alcohol, cigars, coffee products, etc.
