The positions are based out of the off-campus Sheep Research Center. Qualified applicants will be contacted as positions become available. The positions include animal care and maintenance of the facility and may include research and data collection. Position Duties The primary role of this position is to feed the animals and ensure proper health as a top priority. Other duties include: * Collaborating with the farm manager and fellow student employees, as well as some individual work. * Monitor animal health and report concerns to the farm manager (mandatory). * Keep a safe, clean, and organized environment for humans and animals in the lab space and barns. This includes bedding and cleaning water troughs. * Facility upkeep for the main sheep barn as well as other campus locations. Build and repair fence, maintain CREP zones, and mow/weed-whack. * Assist with sheep management including lambing, fecal sampling animals, hoof trimming, shearing, and vaccinating, as needed. * Assist with setting up for labs and research studies, as needed. * Haul sheep between locations using the truck and trailer, as needed. * Drive UTV, as needed.
