DESCRIPTION OF WORK As a Corrections Barber Instructor, you will provide classroom instruction and on-the-job training to inmates in the standard practices, methods, and techniques of the barber trade. In this position, you will be required to maintain order and discipline of inmates during work assignments and classroom instruction. You can expect to maintain documentation of inmate training progress, attendance, and assignment details. You will oversee the provision of barbering services to the inmates at SCI Mercer. Some of your responsibilities will include issuing, inventorying, and requesting all materials and supplies for classroom instruction and assignments, as well as conducting searches to account for all materials and tools. Additionally, you will arrange for inmate students to take the Barber License test administered by the Pennsylvania State Board of Barbering when they are eligible. Interested in learning more? Work Schedule and Additional Information: * Full-time employment * Work hours are 7:45 AM to 3:45 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. * Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position. * Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $50,846.00 (before taxes). * You will receive further communication regarding this position via email.
