Ukrop's Homestyle Foods is seeking to hire Sanitation Associates (Manufacturing Specialist I) at our Central Bakery, located at 2020 Westmoreland Street, Richmond, VA 23230. We have 1st and 3rd shifts available (7am - 3:30pm & 7:30pm - 4:30am) working some Saturdays with occasional overtime and holiday shifts required during holiday peaks. Position Summary: The Manufacturing Specialist I in the Sanitation Department is a full-time, entry-level position that performs a variety of basic duties associated with equipment and supply cleaning and sanitation processes, to ensure compliance with regulatory food safety and environmental laws are met. Successful candidates, must be able to work a flexible schedule and work the posted schedule. Assists in ensuring that the SQF system is in place and that we follow all aspects of HACCP plan, SSOPs, and GMPs throughout the plant. Reports all food safety issues to an immediate supervisor Supports an accident-free work culture. When developing, or modifying production processes, assists in accident prevention and risk identification. Collaborates with HR/Safety Manager to minimize risk exposure from ingredient, equipment, or ergonomics Minimum Physical Requirements: The position responsibilities frequently require: Reading, comprehending, and following verbal and written instructions Performing basic arithmetic to execute duties described above (measuring, follow recipes) The physical demands of the position frequently include: Standing and/or walking for a minimum of four hours Repetitive bending, reaching, stooping, pushing, pulling, and lifting product weighing up to 50 lbs.
