KNOWLEDGE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for frying donuts, placing toppings, and decorating on needed pastries and bread
Carrying out operations and productions that takes place in the kitchen
Baking recipes and preparing all desserts
General Oven Duties (Checking dough conditioner)
Preparing all needed materials and ingredients
Responsible for scaling and shaping of all breads, loaves, and pastries
Sanitization procedures, maintaining overall cleanliness of work station and kitchen
General knowledge of production methods and organization of bread production
Must be able to prioritize and finish all tasks assigned for the daily baking
Ensuring work place is safe and hygienic for all employees and guests
Receive, stock, and store food in designated containers and storage areas in an organized manner
Inform supervisors when equipment is not working properly and manage when food supplies are getting low
Complete various reports for records such as production, usage, and waste
Perform other related duties as assigned

General Purpose:
The Baker provides customer-friendly service to our valuable customers and creates the quality products that Adams is known for. This means producing high quality breads and rolls, as well as a variety of other dough-based products.

Reports to: Manager, Assistant Manager, Supervisor
Job Description:
Ensure that customers receive the best customer service by providing friendly, polite and knowledgeable service
Greet customers personally and thank them appreciatively for shopping at Adams
Take customer orders both in person and on the phone
Report to bakery manager or assistant to review key goals and tasks for the day
Check the floor to see what items are running low and what is needed for the day
Have strong knowledge of product ingredients and be able to converse with customers toaddress allergen concerns
Produce a high volume of a variety of baked goods, including but not limited to, breads, rolls, coffee cakes, loaf cakes, cookies, scones, and muffins according to recipes used in the bakery
Possess bread-baking knowledge for a variety of types of bread
Weigh ingredients, mix, scale and bake, and finish products for sale
Be aware of sale items and have them baked in time for them to be packaged and out for the sale when it begins
Maintain full knowledge of bakery product line and pricing
Rotate products to keep older product in front and stock cases and sale tables, making sure each package is correctly labeled and there are no empty spaces; rotate cakes to keep oldest in back
Make apple cider donuts
Be the final line for quality control: look for packaging issues, sell-by dates, and be vigilant about quality and presentation for all products put into the case or for special orders
Keep the ingredient bins full
Clean dishes and equipment used and put away once dry
Keep all areas of the department clean and organized, including sales floor, counter, cases, coolers, preparation and production areas
When a customer needs assistance, give the customer priority over the task at hand
Physical Requirements:
Consistently lift and move 50 pounds
Stand for duration of shift
Use hands, wrists, fingers and arms for duration of shift
Safety operate mixers, large ovens, bread slicer, knives, donut machine and other equipment necessary to run the department
Qualifications:
Communicate clearly with customers and co-workers
Employees are our internal customers; treat them with the same courtesy and respect as our external customers
Be food safety certified
Be 18 years or older
Must work efficiently and at a productive pace per department needs
Must be able to work scheduled shift
Follow all department safety policies and procedures
Be able to concentrate on tasks in order to avoid injury and waste of product
Be able to read and understand recipes and cake order tickets
Perform math necessary to complete measurements accurately
Be knowledgeable about Adams product - recommend ideas to customers by exploring customer preferences and advocating Adams product
Culinary degree or 2 years' professional baking experience
