Surgery Center of Reno is Hiring a Materials Coordinator to join our team!
USPI Surgery Center of Reno provides high-quality and lower-cost surgical care for the greater Reno community. Our surgery center offers an elevated patient experience for services across several specialties, including orthopedics, spine, and interventional pain management.
Job Summary: Orders general orthopedic, specialty orthopedic, anesthesia supplies, and office supplies. Processes all invoices for approvals to Materials Manager. Delivers supplies and equipment received to stock and patient care areas.
Job Title: Materials Coordinator
Reporting Relationship: Reports to the Materials Manager.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Communicates by phone or in person with business office staff, patient care staff, OR staff and physicians accessing any changes or additional need for supplies
Orders stock and non-stock supplies
Daily input of requisitions and purchase orders to ENVI
Daily follow up of backorders, to include release dates, substitutions, and discontinued products.
Maintains adequate stock levels in assigned areas. Deliver and stock items daily FIFO (first in first out) rotation
Reviews patient charts for applicable implants and accessory charges. Follows USPI guidelines by entering implant logs into ENVI on a daily basis for accurate insurance billing.
Receives, inspects, verifies supplies and equipment purchased by materials management
Accurately processes all purchase orders, picking slips, and invoices with correct pricing
Conducts late afternoon par level analysis for next day
Coordinates returns to the vendor for credit. Obtain price quotes and other information for the using departments
Maintains the computer inventory system in a timely and accurate manner and inputs locations, updates pricing, bin labels in ENVI
Coordinates and trains the individual departmental staff on inventory of supplies
Conducts inventory audits, spot audits and quarterly audits
Prepares all inventory documents for spot and quarterly inventory audits
Review monthly accrual log and forward to materials manager
Meets with vendors sales representatives regarding new products or services, invoices, delivered order forms
Works with OR Nurse Manager to help order specials for surgery
Works with Insurance Verification team to assure that cases with implant that have an expected low reimbursement are done at a margin of profitability by coordinating with vendors, administration, and surgeons
Use techniques to continually search for savings opportunities such as negotiation, substitutions, USPI and HPG contracts, USPI savings calls, other facility Materials Managers, and nursing care staff.
Manages recalls by notifying staff of recall, returning product if needed, and filing paperwork.
Order stock and non-stock supplies and maintains linen supply and stocks linen shelves
Other duties as assigned

Essential Functions:
Ensure the supply of material for the work orders that will be required by the production processes.
Verify that all the raw material in the work order is available.
Receive the material that is delivered and verify that what is delivered matches what is indicated in the pick list.
Post the pick list when all components have been verified and are in accordance with the indications.
Inform the supervisor when there are inconsistencies between the material delivered and what is indicated in the pick list.
Assign additional materials to orders that require them.
Use Horizontal Saw Machine, to fulfill work order demand.
Check that the documentation complies with the requirements (readability, traceability, validity).

Make the returns at the system level and return the material to the warehouse.

Responsibilities include:
Warehouse handlers unload trailers delivering products to our distribution warehouses and use powered industrial equipment such as electric pallet jacks, forklifts, and dock stockers to remove products from trailers
Pallets may also need to be broken down and cases restacked onto new pallets
Work is performed in a warehouse setting and is physically demanding.
Perform duties safely and efficiently while working in a fast-paced environment. Ensure that operations are aligned and performed to achieve production and safety goals
Perform all job tasks assigned by the leadership staff to achieve and maintain daily productivity and quality goals
All other duties as assigned

In a fast-paced environment, safely and efficiently unload tractor trailers delivering product to our distribution warehouses
Use a variety of forklifts to remove product from trailers
Break down pallets and restack cases onto new pallets - this is where the manual labor comes in
