Automotive technicians / auto mechanics perform work specified on maintenance and repair orders with efficiency and in accordance with dealership and/or Ford standards
Ford automotive technicians / auto techs diagnose and repair vehicle automotive systems including engine, transmission, electrical, steering, suspension, braking, air conditioning, etc. to specification
Automotive technicians / automotive mechanics provide labor and time estimates for additional automotive repairs
Auto techs / automotive technician explain mechanical diagnoses and required repairs in a non-technical manner to service advisors and customers
Continuously learn new technical information and techniques in formal training sessions in order to stay abreast with rapidly changing technology.
Inspect and test new vehicles and recording findings so that necessary repairs can be made.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
As an Automotive Technician (Automotive Mechanic), you will be experienced and aware of the latest automotive technologies and be a persistent problem solver. We have determined some factors that may enable your success as an Automotive Technician:
Must have at least 1 years of automotive technician experience
Hold a valid driver’s license
Team oriented, flexible and focused on maintaining a high level of customer service
Working knowledge of shop equipment such as wheel and tire equipment, alignment system, diagnostic equipment, AC equipment, etc.

Job duties for the Experienced CDJR Automotive Technician include but are not limited to:
Acts as a goodwill ambassador for the dealership by promoting professionalism and displaying excellent customer satisfaction skills.
Diagnose and repair vehicle automotive systems.
Provide labor and time estimates for additional automotive repairs.
Explain mechanical diagnoses and required repairs in a non-technical manner to service advisors and customers.

Qualifications:
Two years in a dealership service department as a CDJR technician and ASE certifications are preferred. Good communication skills, multi-tasking skills and computer skills a must. High school diploma or the equivalent is preferred. Must have good driving record.
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:
Extended working hours may be required. Weather conditions vary depending on the season. Technicians work indoors in the service department, which is often noisy with some dust and fumes. Technician may be exposed to battery acid, gasoline, chemical cleaning material or other toxic materials commonly found in motor vehicle service departments, some of which may be considered health hazards. Significant standing, walking, moving, climbing, carrying, bending, kneeling, crawling, reaching, handling, pushing, pulling and heavy lifting. Must be able to move about the complex in all weather conditions and be able to enter and exit most types of vehicles.

The Recondition Technician will perform repair and/or service work of Company products in accordance with prescribed procedures. The job requires using a variety of hand tools and small power tools to take apart and repair the customer tools.

React to change effectively and handle tasks as assigned, including working other shifts as needed
