The Assistant County Attorney will work closely with the County Attorney in both transactional matters and litigation in all state and federal courts. The Assistant will be responsible for representing the County, the Board of Supervisors, employees and various departments, boards and commissions in civil matters. Salary Range: $59,849 - $95,758. Salary will be based on relevant experience. The successful candidate must demonstrate the ability to exercise independent judgment. Candidate must be a graduate of an accredited law school and a member in good standing of the Virginia State Bar. The candidate must have at least five years' experience in the practice of law with an emphasis on litigation, preferably involving issues affecting local government.
The work schedule is flexible, however, the job requires being at the County office building three days a week.
