* Plan and carry out instructional duties, which maximize learning by students.
* Supervise students in accordance with program procedures, academic, and course related concerns.
* Teach assigned courses in accordance with course descriptions.
* Assist with registration and/or recruitment when requested.
* Syllabus must be submitted to dean's office prior to or during the first week classes begin.
* Furnish each student with a course syllabus, which follows the prescribed format, including evaluation procedures, withdrawal procedures, class attendance, and other policies consistent with college procedures. and office phone and e-mail access.
* Attend all scheduled or called meetings by the President or Vice President of Academic Affairs, Deans, LSSC supervisor, unless excused by the administrator in charge.
* Teach all classes for the full period as scheduled.
* Evaluate student progress and achievement with clear methods presented on course syllabus.
* Utilize evaluation results for planning, instruction, counseling, and program modification.
* Keep accurate and up-to-date records.
* Submit grade reports and other required data on or before deadline dates.
* Resolve discipline problems within sphere of responsibility.
* Assist and counsel students as needed.
* Utilize material and equipment necessary to accomplish designated tasks.
* Demonstrate knowledge of current instructional developments.
* Regularly examine content of assigned courses and recommend changes to LSSC supervisor if needed.
* Complies with appropriate administrative rules/regulations and Board Policy.
* Participate in an annual evaluation process as specified by the Vice President of Academic Affairs.
* Maintain continuity of communication with students, community, faculty, staff, and supervisors through timely replies to meeting, phone, mail, and email requests.
* Perform other duties as assigned.
* Adhere to all workplace safety rules, safety laws, regulations, standards and practices.
* Ability to work various hours including nights, early morning and weekends.
* Ability to travel amongst various campuses and attend College events, or off campus, as required.

Courses are scheduled on a semester-by-semester basis and cover a range of topics within the sports media industry.

Possess a terminal degree or Master's degree in Communication, Journalism, or in a closely related discipline from an accredited program/college/university or...
Possess the highest degree in the teaching discipline/field with a certification or license and a minimum of two years' experience in the teaching discipline/field
Possess experience teaching at the college/university level (preferred)
Demonstrated professional experience in the Sports Media industry.
Skilled in print, digital, and broadcast communication.
Ability to integrate faith into teaching and discussions, supporting the Christian worldview of the University.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Commitment to academic excellence and the development of students as future leaders in the Sports Media field.
Preferred:
Prior teaching experience in a higher education setting.

Equipment Required
Adjunct instructors are required to provide their own equipment if teaching online. This includes:
Computer, telephone, and a printer with a scanner that would meet the technical requirements for the university's software and programs.

Schedule
Adjunct hours (part time) are specific to the courses assigned by semester. Adjuncts are considered temporary, term-to-term employees with no guarantee of assigned work each semester.
TRAINING
All new hires and employees transferring into a new position will have a 90-day probationary period within which to learn the functions of the job and to be evaluated. Following the probationary period, the employee can transition to regular status, have the probationary period extended in order to receive more training, or employment can be terminated.
