The MEDVAMC program is also supported by an on-site surgical health services research group.

    Ideally located in the heart of the world's largest medical center, our 250-faculty member department works at iconic institutions, including the Baylor St. Luke's Medical Center, the Texas Heart Institute, the Texas Children's Hospital, Ben Taub General Hospital, and the MEDVAMC. We are ranked 13th in the nation by USNWR for departments of surgery.

    The BCM Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery performs a high volume of adult cardiac operations annually at three affiliated hospitals. Substantial resources will be available to the successfully recruited candidate to further grow and develop a nationally prominent clinical and research program in adult cardiac surgery. The Division trains 15 cardiothoracic surgery "5-3" and I-6 residents as well as advanced cardiac surgery fellows and maintains a robust research program in clinical, translational, and basic science research.
