Located in the heart of skiing country, Vail Resorts is dedicated to leading the world in luxury, destination-based travel all the while being the premier mountain resort company. The company's mission is simple: To create the Experience of a Lifetime for employees so they can provide exceptional experiences for the guests.

Diving Into the Values at Vail Resorts

  • Serve Others
  • Do Right
  • Drive Value
  • Do Good
  • Be Safe
  • Have Fun
  • The Team at Vail Resorts

    Climb Any Mountain Together

When you become part of the team at Vail, you become the company's priority. Because at Vail, they strive to make you happy. The company is dedicated to making sure you have a great career experience. One that challenges you, supports you and empowers you to grow. The company continuously invests in its team.

"There is no shortage of challenges or opportunities to help improve the business," said Carol Fabrizio, Vice President of Communications. "If you see a need, and you have the capacity and ambition to work on it, you'll have the opportunity and support to forge ahead."

Another big part of this team is the mountains that surround the job. The mountains are everything to the Vail team. That's where the #EpicByNature comes from. The team is always willing to explore every part of their work and discover new things as well. They devote themselves to finding innovation to have a meaningful impact. The team is made up of individuals who are committed to looking for opportunities to grow professionally and personally.

    The Culture at Vail Resorts

    More Than Just Skiing

The Vail culture is a good mixture of being recognized and giving back to the community you serve. The EpicService award is the highest level of recognition you can receive. It's awarded to those who provide an "Experience of a Lifetime" for guests.

Awarded quarterly, winners receive an EpicService pin and a celebration entirely in their honor. Then every year, one of those nominees is chosen to receive an all-expenses-paid multi-exclusive dinner with Vail CEO Rob Katz and other executives.

But employees get to celebrate more than just themselves. They also get to celebrate their communities by giving back. As one of the company's core values, the employees believe in doing good. Over the last year, the employees represented this by giving nearly 25,000 hours of their time to volunteer work at nonprofits. That's just one of the factors that make. working at Vail so meaningful.

    The Leadership at Vail Resorts

    Ain't No Mountain High Enough

No, we're not talking about the actual leadership. We're talking about you becoming a leader. From development courses and women in leadership programs to the leadership summit and individual development plans, you'll be able to move mountains in your career with Vail.

The Development Courses range in design from programs for entry-level employees to senior executives. The Women in Leadership programs foster an inclusive, diverse work environment that promotes leadership growth opportunities for, you guessed it, women. The Leadership Summit comes around once a year.

The summit attracts over 800 leaders to explore topics on how to build leading connections and becoming a great leader. It's the biggest event of the year. But it's not the end to your leadership opportunities. Through the Insights Discovery platform, you can perform a behavioral assessment that will provide a framework for self-understanding and development.

Vail also provides employees individual development plans with structured goal plans and review process. These plans help employees collaborate with their managerial counterparts to continually advance their careers.

    The Benefits at Vail Resorts

    Skiing Toward the Best Perks

As everything else starts at Vail, the perks even start on the mountain. It may be obvious, but every employee receives a free ski pass. Since their mission is to create the experience of a lifetime, it's fitting that that's the goal for the perks as well. As a thank you for your hard work and dedication, Vail offers:

Pros of working at Vail Resorts

Connection to other resorts has benefits

Cons of working at Vail Resorts

I was shocked to discover how disorganized & unprofessional Vail resorts was. Quite frankly in my over 20 years teaching skiing (or in my other "day jobs"), I have never seen any employer so incompetent. Vail is spending way too much time buying new resorts up (like mine) to put any time in to actually figure out how to run an eastern resort. They've taken great ski areas & made them horrible. Customers are pissed & leaving as well as many valued former employees. How bad does it have to be before they either sell to someone else or hire someone to get it together! Unbelievable & heartbreaking!
