Intrepid is looking for a Lighting Artist who can work with initial guidance on lighting areas of the map. They have a strong understanding of lighting in UE5 and how to setup lighting for different scenarios. This lighting artist should be open to critiques and be able to take that information and apply it to their scenes. They should have at least 1 shipped AAA title. The candidate should also have strong communication skills and the ability to work closely with other departments in a team environment.
Qualifications:
Professional experience in game development as an Associate Lighting Artist
Knows how to communicate complicated Lighting issues with different audiences: artists, engineers, managers, designers, etc.
Experience with standard industry tools, Unreal, Photoshop, Houdini, etc
Experience with real-time GI based lighting systems. Preferably Unreal Engine 5 and Lumen
Strong knowledge of lighting in real-time engines
Strong understanding of atmospherics, fog systems and how to use them in engine to enhance the look of what you are lighting
Experience with Lumen, PBR, materials, identifying problems with materials and use of the buffer visualization tools to identify these problems
How to work within the EV100 system and HDR lighting pipelines
Understanding of how color grading works and using to establish a feeling or mood
Basic understanding of lighting optimization
Strong understanding of the fundamentals of lighting, color theory, form, and value
Responsibilities:
Strong background in real-time game lighting, including a good grasp of performance considerations and gameplay dynamics.

POSITION SUMMARY

POSITION SUMMARY
Teaching Artists are key members of the Arts Education, Community Programs, and Studio Programs team who work directly with the Museum's diverse audience of children and families. Skilled in both the arts and teaching, they execute programs by engaging participants in hands-on activities. They perform in a dynamic group environment and work collaboratively to deliver high levels of creative engagement. This position is supervised daily by Arts Education, Community Programs, and Studio Programs administration and reports to and is evaluated by the Studio's Manager.
Specific responsibilities include:
● Facilitates and teaches early childhood and caregiver programs, school-age programs, camps and other classes, onsite studio spaces and workshops, outreach and school and community partnership programs, and other special programs, as assigned.
● Works with the department administrative team and Senior Teaching Artist staff to support the prototyping of the curriculum.
● Support annual education programs along with annual Mass Creativity and other events as needed.
● Supports Creative Community Advocacy Manager and other A&E administration with annual Mass Creativity program workshops, pARTners in Creativity, and other outreach efforts.
● Helps to organize, clean, and maintain all classroom, studio, and workshop spaces.
● Practices behind-the-scenes program prep and kit-making assembly.
● Ensures the safety and comfort of program participants and provides customer service.
● Staff evaluation stations as needed and support evaluation collection with visitors and program participants as required
● Maintains communication with supervisors and team members in person and via email.
