CompensationThere are three major components to compensation for this position: salary, Amazon Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), and Zoox Stock Appreciation Rights. The salary range for this position is $115,000 to $163,000. A sign-on bonus may be offered as part of the compensation package. Compensation will vary based on geographic location and level. Leveling, as well as positioning within a level, is determined by a range of factors, including, but not limited to, a candidate's relevant years of experience, domain knowledge, and interview performance. What does a Compositing Artist do at Hogarth?
We are looking for a hands-on Compositing Artist with expertise in Adobe After Effects and Photoshop and Nuke. Design and implement visually appealing, user-friendly UI mockups and assets that align with the game's artistic direction and design philosophy.
Collaborate closely with Game Designers, UX Designers, and other team members to conceptualize, iterate, and develop UI throughout all stages of the project-from early concepts to in-engine integration and final polish.
Provide leadership and guidance to junior UI Artists, overseeing artistic decisions, and ensuring smooth implementation across the project.
Partner with stakeholders to create and maintain a cohesive UI style guide and Design System.
Establish and document UI art best practices and workflows, continuously optimizing team efficiency and quality.
Stay up to date with industry trends and new tools, actively researching ways to enhance the UI design process and elevate the team's output.
Requirements:
4+ years of proven experience in creating high-quality UI for interactive entertainment, with a strong understanding of user-centered design principles.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to clearly articulate ideas and collaborate with other team members.
Experience with visual tools such as Figma, Photoshop, Illustrator and After Effects or similar software.
Solid experience working within game engines (Unreal Engine, Unity, or other proprietary/commercial engines), with an understanding of the associated production pipelines.
Relevant experience:
Knowledge of in-engine UI materials and asset implementation is a significant plus.
Experience with motion graphics, animation, and UI-related visual effects is a plus.
A working knowledge of 3D design principles.
The pay range for this position in California at the start of employment is expected to be between $110,000 and $150,000 per year. However, base pay offered is based on market location, and may vary further depending on individualized factors for job candidates, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations.
