We are seeking a Mechanical Production Artist for a global beauty company located in New York, NY. This is a ongoing freelance opportunity with the ability to start immediately. The hours for the role are 30 hours per week Monday-Friday. The role will be operating off a hybrid schedule on-site in the brand's corporate office 3x per week, only local candidates will be considered. The ideal candidate will have prior experience working on packaging mechanicals within the beauty industry or similar consumer goods industry.
Responsibilities:
The Freelance Mechanical Product Artist (2D) will download the necessary prep files, set up the mechanical art in illustrator, then submit to leadership to ensure everything seems right and consistent from the design side (type sizes/styles, alignment, image cropping, logo sizes, etc. emboss pattern is placed properly, etc.).
Once approved, then the pdfs need to be uploaded for proofing in internal proprietary system which this individual will be trained on.
After the pdfs are uploaded other teams such as regulatory, marketing , and editorial will review layouts to confirm aspects like ingredient listings and weight claims. These teams will mark revisions as necessary.
After these teams give the OK, final art is released through the the internal proprietary system with a pdf and link to all the working files needed for manufacturing.
This individual may need to collaborate on layouts with other members of the team as necessary.
You will need to maintain type size, style, and layout detail consistently across multiple formats and carton sizes.
Ideal candidates/qualifications:
Highly detail oriented person needed to work on Packaging Mechanicals in fast paced environment.
Hi level knowledge of Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign needed.
Should have excellent understanding of print production and type treatment.
Understand best practices of mechanical layout for complex printing techniques including emboss plates, foil stamping, silk-screening, Etc…
General awareness of cosmetics industry labeling requirements for US and Canada including OTC Drug Fact panels and regulatory info is preferred but not required.

The Endeavor Fellow will also teach courses at the College that will engage our students and the college community in Wartburg's mission. Past collaborations with Wartburg have included undergraduate classes focused on improv, storytelling, and puppetry, and we can also imagine classes focusing on film-making and/or photography; we are especially interested in classes that we could cross-list under both Theatre and Visual Arts.

What You'll Do
Epic is looking for a passionate Lead UI Artist to join our Fortnite team. In this position you will lead and manage a team of UI Artists (1-4) working on major initiatives of Fortnite (E.g., Quests, Passes, or Social Systems). You will use your experience in generating and implementing pixel-perfect UI Art and guide your team to produce well-thought-out features and systems. You and your team will be responsible for generating high-fidelity mockups, prototypes, and design systems. You'll be responsible for implementing AAA-quality UI Art into Unreal Engine 5 (UE5), and will work with a multidisciplinary team to ship these features to millions of players around the world.
In this role, you will
Lead UI Art on a product team and inspire, mentor, and manage a team of UI Artists (1-4)
Be accountable for the quality and consistency of UI Art produced on the product team
Work collaboratively with UX Design, Tech Design, and Code to create AAA-quality UI experiences
Actively participate in the creation and implementation of design systems, game menus, iconography, UI materials and shaders, UI animation, and motion design
Contribute to shipping product team features on time and to quality
Flag new and emerging design patterns or systems from the product team to UI Art Directors
Collaborate with the greater UX/UI Department to ensure consistency and quality is maintained across Fortnite as a whole
What we're looking for
7+ years of experience designing and implementing in-game UI; working in agile environments, and on multi-disciplinary teams
2-4 years of experience managing a team of 1-4 people, or equivalent training
You are skilled with Figma, Adobe Suite, or other comparable design software
You have experience implementing AAA-quality UI Art in Unreal Engine or other comparable game engines
Experience with building shaders and materials in Unreal Engine or comparable game engines
Portfolio demonstrating a keen eye for UI Art, Visual Design, Motion Design, and Animation
Experience in creating 3d game assets in software packages like 3ds Max and/or Maya
This role is open to multiple locations in North America (including CA, NYC, & WA).

The expected annual base pay range(s) for this position are detailed below. Each base pay range is relevant only for individuals who are residents of or will be expected to work within the specified locale. Compensation varies based on a variety of factors, which include (but aren't limited to) things such as skills and competencies, qualifications, knowledge, and experience. In addition to base pay, most employees are eligible to participate in Epic's generous benefit plans and discretionary incentive programs (subject to the terms of those plans or programs).

JOB DESCRIPTION
The Artist in Residence Coordinator will provide support for the educational needs of all Champions After-School Arts Activities, which take place in approximately 130 New York City Public Schools. The activities include all performing and visual art genres. The Artist in Residence Coordinator will take a lead in implementing programs that are designed to help NYE instructors better understand the experiences offered and foster use of curriculum and lessons that can be implemented on site. This program is designed to support teaching artists in the field, be thought partners, offering training and mentorship and create safe spaces for our youth that are inclusive of diversity, equity, culture, creativity and social emotional learning competencies. NYE wants to create holistic learning experiences for all students and provide enrichment opportunities to help them grow as young artists and individuals.
The Artist in Residence Coordinator will also be responsible for project alignment to the overall mission of the art department. Artist in residence will provide a wide spectrum of artistic programs on site which involve collaboration between artists, hosting organizations, institutions, or communities. This will be a space to provide our teaching artists with resources, materials and knowledge to put their work into practice in a more pragmatic way with their students. Resources will come in the way of lessons and curricula that are in pursuit of a specific outcome related to a particular theme. With this holistic approach the AIR Coordinator will act as a direct support along with master teachers or experts in the field. Partnerships with artistic institutions will allow for a well-rounded experience where specialists can give and get professional training and turn-key their knowledge into after school art programs. Specialists should be able to study and teach as a result of this process. This will encourage collaboration with the NYE program, school, community and families to foster a space where interests, goals and creativity can be shared.
The Artist in Residence Coordinator will report to the Director of Art and assist and work with the Art Department staff.
Part Time: 25 Hours per week; $35-$38/hour
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Strategizes the basic framework for all NYE Artist in Residence programs
Facilitates for the educational needs of the NYE Arts activities and staff
Maintains a pool of teaching artists and partner organizations for recommendation and placement
Helps design and implement the Curriculum Experiences aligned with NYC and National standards for School Year & Summer Programs
Creates and implements residencies taught, co-taught or outsourced for each season for various sites
Provide our teaching artists with resources, materials and knowledge to increase program quality
Provide support from master teachers or experts in the field, active engagement by students and a deeper rooted understanding of the artistic experience.
Helps coach and mentor artists through dedicated time with arts staff
Initiates and maintains relationships with art organizations and vendors
Offers individual guidance and one-on-one assistance to improve instruction, lesson development, and classroom management to all art specialists by visiting and spending time out in the field.
Take part in specialized projects or committees for the organization as needed
Must pass pre-employment background investigation including but not limited to employment history and criminal background check.

QUALIFICATIONS:
BA or BFA in the Arts
Minimum of three to five years of work-related skill, knowledge, or experience is required
Must have passion for NYE mission and demonstrated interest in the field of education and youth development
Candidates who are qualified in more than one activity are preferred
Must have a personal art practice and experience in a variety of art media
Must have knowledge in arts terminology, history and resources
Must have prior experience successfully teaching and instructing youth in one or more arts genres
