THE LOCATION

THE POSITION
We are looking for Armed Court Guards to join our team to work at courthouses throughout Colorado. This position will patrol the interior and exterior of facilities and monitor a closed-circuit television feed to prevent unauthorized access and limit other incidents. Armed Court Guards must legally possess a firearm (we will train), and additional certifications are highly valued, such as a baton permit, pepper spray permit, and CPR certification. You must be able to collaborate with the other members of our team to limit any potential risks. We expect each infraction to be thoroughly investigated and properly documented. Our ideal candidate has military, law enforcement, or security experience. Courthouse locations in Colorado include: Fruita, Grand Junction, Rifle, Eagle, Aspen, and Glenwood Springs.
Qualification Requirements:
- Provide credible references and I-9 Employment Eligibility Documentation (legal eligibility to work in the U.S.).
- Ability to perform job tasks in an extremely professional manner in a customer service driven industry.
- Reading, writing and oral proficiency in the English language.
- Ability to pass a background check and have a clean Motor Vehicle Record.
- Ability to stand and walk for several hours per shift.
- Reliable transportation and proximity to site(s).
- Basic computer skills.
- Positive attitude.
- Punctuality, never late.
- Must own a smartphone for scheduling and clocking in / out.
- Experience in CPR, first aid, firefighting and crowd control is preferred, but not required.

Contract for armed security guard (CSG) services to provide security, installation access control, conduct roving patrols, provide surveillance, monitoring and the overall safeguarding of an installation and its tenants. This is a United States Army installation, which includes all access gym and workout facility as well as a PX, Burger King, and MWR.

Requirements
Candidates must be a U.S. Citizen
Have two (2) years' experience in armed security, armed law enforcement, or have performed operations within the Armed Forces, civilian police or commercial security while armed within the past 10 years If U.S. military experience is included as referenced experience, candidate must have a DD214 within the last 10 years as verification
Must have completed a State recognized civilian security or law enforcement academy, or the completion of an armed forces security or law enforcement training program. (Verification of training, such as a training certificate/s or DD214 (honorable discharge) must be provided)
Have a current/active U.S. Passport
Be willing to undergo an NCIC/FBI criminal background report to include fingerprints. Must have a clean criminal history with no convictions or major traffic offenses
Must have experience and knowledge of security operations
Must have experience with basic force protection
Must have excellent written and oral communication skills
Must be medically fit and undergo medical testing
Must be fully vaccinated for the COVID-19 virus with acceptable documentation of vaccination(s)
Must pass a Physical Ability Test (to include - run 1.5 miles in 17:30 minutes and 21 pushups in two minutes). This is strictly enforced and exceptions or waivers will not be allowed
Must be willing to undergo random drug testing upon request
Regular working hours are 48 hours per week. Due to the nature of the proposed employment, the employee may work on different schedules on different days of the week as assigned by a supervisor and may also be required to work additional hours beyond scheduled time
Physical Requirements/Working Environment:
The candidate must maintain the necessary physical fitness to ensure accomplishment of assigned missions. This includes guard duties under local types of weather and terrain. The candidate must meet all physical and medical requirements as dictated by the U.S. Goevernment client's contract.

*Armed Facility Guard*
This position is under the direct supervision of the Project Manager for assigned shift of the US Federal Government and is responsible for providing protection and safekeeping of persons held under the authority of any United States statute. Our client's mission is to provide a safe environment in which Federal agencies conduct their business without fear of violence, crime or disorder.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The Detention Officer performs various duties related to detention, safeguarding, security and escort of violators of immigration laws, exercises surveillance over detainees, and maintains order and discipline, attends to sheltering, feeding, and physical well-being of detainees. The Detention Officer guards detainees at deportation or exclusion hearings, recognizes potential hazardous health, safety, security, or discipline problems.
The tasks to be performed by Detention Officers shall include, but are not limited to:
* Guarding Federal detainees confined to a medical facility for treatment
* Escorting Federal detainees to and from local medical facilities for evaluation and treatment by physicians.
* Escorting Federal detainees to and from physician's office, or other areas of the medical facility or hospital, or for treatment, tests, etc.
* Escorting Federal detainees between Federal and non-Federal detention facilities and the Federal Courthouse for appearance or meetings before the Grand Jury, the Court, or US Attorney, etc.
* Escorting Federal detainees between detention facilities and/or the Justice Prisoner Alien Transportation System (JPATS) airlift site.
* Providing guard services within Federal Courthouse, Federal buildings, and the cellblock areas.
* Providing security for Government seized property.
Requirements:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Must have a minimum of three (3) years of full time law enforcement, corrections officer, or military police experience monitoring detainees and dealing with security matters related to detainee handling and detention of detainees on a regular basis.
* Be a minimum of 21 years of age; fluent in speaking, reading, comprehending and writing English due to nature of the position.
* Must be a U.S. citizen;
* All employees shall have at least one year of experience as a law enforcement officer, corrections officer, or military police officer, a period of active-duty military experience (with an honorable discharge), or six months of experience as a security officer engaged in functions related to detaining civil or administrative detainees;
* Employees shall have at least one year of general experience that demonstrates the following:
* The ability to greet and deal tactfully with the public;
* The ability to understand and apply written and verbal orders, rules, and regulations;
* Literacy and the ability to interpret printed rules and regulations, detailed written orders, training instructions, and materials;
* The ability to write reports;
* Good judgment, courage, alertness, an even temperament, and the ability to render satisfactory performance through knowledge of his or her position responsibilities; and the ability to maintain poise and self-control during situations that involve mental stress, such as fires, explosions, civil disturbances, and building evacuations.
* Possess a valid U.S. driver's license;
* Ability to provide quality customer service
* Reliable and have a strong work ethic
* Posses applicable State license and certification requirements to perform the assigned duties;
* Must be able to pass a background check covering the last 10 years and pass a drug screening due to the nature of the position.
* Must be able to pass a physical agility test if applicable; complete required training and pass examination.
