As an organization, we are committed to teacher growth and development. To this end, we have an apprentice teaching program for individuals who are interested in being teachers, but are not yet certified or in their final stages of the certification program. Apprentice teachers are paired with a certified mentor teacher in a co-teaching model and paid a stipend. This program is open to individuals engaged in their student teaching experience for the 2025-2026 school year if they are able to meet the following requirements:
Commit to at least four days in the field during the first semester and five days during the second semester
Participate in back to school professional development beginning August 1, 2025
Demonstrate that their teacher education program supports this placement for the 2025-2026 school year
Commit to teaching at AFIA after their student teaching year, if the candidate and AFIA agree that the position is a good fit
Demonstrate a willingness to engage in continual job-embedded professional development related to all areas of teaching and learning, including the qualifications listed below

Responsible for performing heavy duty crane modifications, installations and repairs to damaged cranes and crane parts, plus crane repair and maintenance work in accordance with Custom Truck and factory standards under the general direction of the Crane Shop Manager.

This role supports the Site Manager and Telecommunications Mechanic II by performing various tasks required for maintaining Inside Plant (ISP) and Outside Plant (OSP) cable and equipment. The Maintenance Trades Helper assists with performing preventive maintenance inspections (PMIs) and scheduled tests on systems to ensure compliance with Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) specifications and contractual standards. This position is essential for ensuring system reliability and operational efficiency.
**Responsibilities**
The Maintenance Trades helper will perform Inside Plant/Outside Plant installation, operation & maintenance. Must be able to use tools ranging from common hand and power tools, such as hammers; hoists; saws; drills; and wrenches; to precision measuring instruments and electrical and electronic testing devices. They will be a flexible "jack of all trades".
Supporting Job duties to include but not limited to:
+ Assist in maintaining ISP and OSP cable and equipment as identified in contractual requirements.
