Installs and mounts electronic controls, device panels, sensors, and components, along with associated conduit and wiring. Interlocks wiring as necessary. Replaces variable speed drives on equipment and repairs damaged cables. Replaces and wires electronic components as required. Reads blueprints and user manuals to determine proper function and installation of electrical equipment. Utilizes machine information to diagnose and troubleshoot issues. Collaborates with production personnel to understand equipment failures and determines the most effective course of action for resolution. Assists in replacing motors and other electrical components. Sizes, bends and installs new conduit runs. Assists the Plant Engineering Manager in determining work procedures. Ensures all work complies with federal, state, and local electrical codes, including the NEC and NFPA70e. Collaborates with the Sims Metal Engineering Group to uphold internal standards and recommendations. Maintenance Technician - 2nd Shift Pay: Starting at $34/HR (can go higher for those with more experience) Shift Hours: Shift starts at 1:45 PM - Finish (typically between 10:00 PM and 2:00 AM). Job Title: Site MEP Coordinator. Type of Employment: This is a contract position for the first 12 months with the potential to extend the contract or convert to a permanent employee. Responsibilities Responsibilities: (OJT Provided to gain knowledge of) - Troubleshooting electrical, computer, mechanical, and pneumatic equipment/systems commonly used in industrial manufacturing applications. - Reading electrical prints and wiring schematics. - Electrical circuits - 24V, 120V, 240V and 480V. Also includes 'high voltage' power distribution (up to 34.5KV), grounding, and associated components (transformers, breakers, fuses, disconnects, etc.). - AC and DC motors & variable frequency drives. - Servo motors and encoders. - Laptop connection and communication with different types of PLCs for troubleshooting purposes; includes working knowledge of Ethernet IP address and serial communications. - Industrial temperature control systems, including thermocouples, temperature controllers, solid state relays, and heating elements. - Industrial safety circuitry, including 'Emergency Stop' circuits. Qualifications: - Working towards an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) or an Associate in Occupational Studies (AOS) degree in a related electrical field. - Perform activities using all required PPE and follow Pactiv's safe work practices and OSHA regulations, including NFPA 70E. - Letter of recommendation from a professor.
