Job Title: Industrial Electrician Role & Responsibilities: * Work safely as a top priority by adhering to the plant's accident prevention policies. Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations. * Safely install, perform preventive maintenance, and troubleshoot electrical components within the manufacturing plant. * Maintain, test and repair AC/DC motors and motor control systems. * Develop skill set to troubleshoot advanced control system and instrumentation equipment including PLC controls. * Interpret and use wiring schematics. * Operate electrical test equipment inherent to the job. * Know and understand NEC codes, become trained in NFPA-70E, and practice all other electrician duties in a manufacturing environment Qualifications & Requirements: * Must have the desired technical skills to safely and proficiently work as an electrician in a plant setting. * Possess basic mechanical maintenance skills. * Ability to interpret and perform tasks as detailed on printed work orders. * Basic computer skills needed to complete safety training and review work-related email. * Ability to operate equipment as needed, including forklifts, etc. * Familiar with common hand tools and how to properly use them. * Good collaboration skills and ability to work as part of a team. For 29 years, the International Festival of Arts & Ideas (“Arts & Ideas”) has inspired and delighted audiences with an annual program of over 200 performing arts and humanities events year-round, at least 85% of which are free. The Facilities Department of Nassau Community College (NCC) is seeking a Maintenance Electrician to install, maintain, and repair electrical systems, equipment, and fixtures throughout the campus. Under direct supervision, the position requires use of judgment and skill, and the work is reviewed for quality, accuracy, and completeness. In addition, the Maintenance Electrician will: * Make repairs to electrical motors, fire alarm systems, lights, power circuits, appliances, generators, and a variety of other electrical equipment. * Troubleshoot, locate, and correct power failures and short circuits. * Install open and concealed wiring and lighting fixtures. * Make emergency repairs to elevators, generators, and other electrical apparatus. * Perform a variety of preventive maintenance on a variety of electrical apparatus, appliances, and equipment. * Make work time estimates, and keep simple records. * Perform a variety of non-electrical maintenance and repair tasks, as required.
