Installs and mounts electronic controls, device panels, sensors, and components, along with associated conduit and wiring. Interlocks wiring as necessary. Replaces variable speed drives on equipment and repairs damaged cables. Replaces and wires electronic components as required. Reads blueprints and user manuals to determine proper function and installation of electrical equipment. Utilizes machine information to diagnose and troubleshoot issues. Collaborates with production personnel to understand equipment failures and determines the most effective course of action for resolution. Assists in replacing motors and other electrical components. Sizes, bends and installs new conduit runs. Assists the Plant Engineering Manager in determining work procedures. Ensures all work complies with federal, state, and local electrical codes, including the NEC and NFPA70e. Collaborates with the Sims Metal Engineering Group to uphold internal standards and recommendations. Support measures to effectively manage costs and adherence to budgetary requirements Support continuous improvement initiatives and quality requirements Comply with all Company policies, procedures, and initiatives relevant to the job Support training and performance-management initiatives Other duties as assigned Qualifications: Up to 8 years of experience as a journeyman or licensed electrician.
