Full Job Description:
Swanson Family Construction is seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Apprentice Trimmer/Interior Carpenter to join our growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with 1-2 years of experience-or a strong desire to learn-to gain hands-on carpentry skills in a supportive, team-first environment. You'll assist with interior trim work on residential builds and remodeling projects, learning from seasoned craftsmen while contributing to high-quality results that our clients love.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist with installation of trim, baseboards, door casings, and other finish carpentry elements
Measure and cut materials to specified dimensions under supervision
Help with setting doors, cabinetry, and other interior components
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site
Learn to use hand and power tools with care and accuracy
Support the lead carpenter and team as needed on daily tasks
Follow instructions and safety guidelines on every job
Show initiative, ask questions, and strive for continuous improvement
Ideal Candidate Should Possess:
1-2 years of experience in construction or carpentry preferred (but not required)
A genuine interest in learning the carpentry trade, especially interior trim work
Strong work ethic, reliability, and a positive attitude
Ability to work well in a team setting and take direction from supervisors
Basic understanding of measuring tools and safe tool usage
Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in a physically demanding environment
Willingness to work indoors and outdoors in changing conditions
Fluent in English with good communication skills
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to and from job sites

Schedule:
Full Time
Monday to Friday, with occasional weekend work based on project needs.
Work Location:
Howard Lake, MN and surrounding areas.
