About the Role:
The Compounding Pharmacist is responsible for supervising all compounding activities in the compounding laboratory. The Compounding Pharmacist performs various checks throughout the compounding process. This role supervises Technicians and provides a supportive environment for accurate and efficient compounding of the highest quality compounded medications. You are also responsible for assisting in compliance measures with the compounding labs, and developing processes, SOP's, and training manuals. This role will report to the Head Compounding Pharmacist and the Pharmacist-In-Charge.
The Compounding Pharmacist demonstrates a commitment to the mission of the pharmacy and goals of Hims & Hers. You will strive to maximize quality and patient safety while dispensing medication in accordance with federal and state pharmacy regulations.
The hours for this shift are Tues-Fri 5:30pm-4:00am. If this shift does not align with your availability, please take a look at the other shifts we are currently hiring for.
You Will:
* Directly supervise all compounding personnel namely pharmacy technicians and essential pharmacy support personnel
* Perform and accurately document compounding procedures, quality assurance/quality control checks, and dispensing of compounded preparations
* Verify formula records, compounding records, beyond use dates, and finished compounded products.
* Assist in the training and evaluation of compounding personnel
* Coordinate the calibration, maintenance, and use of equipment to compound prescription orders and monitor the compounding environment in conjunction with the maintenance team
* Follow all safety, USP, BOP, and internal guidelines for the preparation of compounded medications.
* Maintain a safety-first mindset and ensure precautions are taken in all compounding activities within the lab, including when working with hazardous chemicals in accordance with USP and applicable laws
* When required, wear all personal protective equipment (PPE)
* Must have knowledge of all principles, theories and laws, policies and procedures that pertain to compounding- specifically USP , , other USP general chapters, and best compounding practices
* Perform pharmacist related activities such as patient consultation and error documentation
* Coordinate with the Pharmacist-in-charge (PIC) for personnel, compliance and regulatory matters.
* Participate in quality assurance initiatives, projects, tasks, and audits as part of our Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) program.
* Willingness to complete external training as required
* Drive quality efforts by adhering to standard operating procedures
* Follow all state and pharmacy regulations and rules as designated by the Arizona State of Pharmacy and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA)

* Perform pharmacist duties such as drug utilization reviews, patient counseling, and dispensing activities

* Protects patients and technicians by adhering to infection-control protocols
* Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
* Perform other tasks as assigned including, but not limited to: inventories, project work, compounding, record keeping, training, technician tasks and auditing processes
You Have:
* Bachelor's degree or Doctorate degree in Pharmacy
* Active Pharmacist License in Arizona
* Effective knowledge of state and federal pharmacy laws, rules and regulations related to the practice of pharmacy
* 5+ years of pharmacist experience, at least 3 in a compounding pharmacy
* Non-sterile compounding experience
* Strong math skills
* Must be able to undergo respirator fit testing - Full beards or a lot of facial hair may prevent a proper seal for the respirator
* Must have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
* Must be capable of working with small, delicate pieces of expensive machinery to complete appropriate dosage forms in a timely manner
* Must be able to work cross-functionally with remote teams
* Must be able to lift at least 25 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation

* This position will require working with Hazardous Drugs (HD) and would require that Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) be worn for the length of working with these drugs. These items would include gloves, respiratory protection, gown and other items as required.

This incumbent is enrolled as a student in a college of pharmacy for the first year of education. The incumbent is in a training and learning position as a part of a paid internship and demonstrates consistent application of knowledge and skills in assisting the pharmacist in the execution of appropriate, safe, efficacious, efficient, and cost-effective pharmaceutical care. Remote Apothecary Job
The clinical pharmacist position is responsible for and participates in a wide range of provider, patient, and employer initiatives and programs. The pharmacist supports all lines of business including Medicare, Commercial, Exchange (Marketplace), and Medicaid, managing quality, appropriateness, safety, and cost for these member populations. The role involves conducting prior authorization reviews for all drugs, which pertains to the pharmacy benefit side of the industry.
Responsibilities
* Conduct prior authorization reviews for all drugs.
* Participate in various provider, patient, and employer initiatives and programs.
* Support Medicare, Commercial, Exchange (Marketplace), and Medicaid lines of business.
* Manage quality, appropriateness, safety, and cost for member populations.
* Serve as a professional, articulate, and knowledgeable liaison to internal and external organizations.
* Foster positive relationships with vendors and partners.
* Advocate appropriately for the corporation.
* Maintain confidentiality and use only the minimum amount of protected health information (PHI) necessary to accomplish job-related responsibilities.
Essential Skills
* Pharmacy Degree and NY State Licensure.
* Strong customer service orientation and ability to interface effectively with internal and external customers.
* Fundamental knowledge of drug information process/references and ability to conduct research.
* Strong clinical pharmacy experience including participation in patient management initiatives.
* Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Strong clinical knowledge base, maintained through continuing education and professional affiliations.
* Strong computer skills and ability to learn new systems quickly.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
* PharmD or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy.
* Managed care experience is a plus but not required.
* Retail pharmacy experience is valued.
* Quick learner who can adapt to new systems quickly.
Work Environment
The position is 100% remote, with working hours from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday. No weekends are required. The role involves significant time spent at a computer and on the telephone, and may require occasional travel. The work environment is fast-paced, requiring the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy. There is frequent interaction with external customers, providers, and vendors. The position involves a high level of interpersonal interaction and the ability to respond to problems, emergencies, or special projects as needed.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $50.00/hr.
