This question is about what a graphic designer does.

What does an entry-level graphic designer do?

By Kate Swindlehurst - Jun. 12, 2023

Entry-level graphic designers complete parts of a design, report to a senior designer, and improve design tasks. A degree in graphic design is not required, but will likely increase your chances of getting a job, as many top firms for graphic design do not hire candidates without at least a bachelor's degree in graphic design.

Entry-level graphic designers work under the direction of a senior designer. The senior designer assigns portions of an overall design to the entry-level designer. From there, entry-level designers complete tasks and report on their progress to the senior designer.

A large part of an entry-level graphic designer's work is to improve design tasks related to how the design is completed, and not what the design is. The job of an entry-level designer is to complete tasks for more senior designers, and not to create new tasks they deem important or change a design's format without permission.
