How much do medical liaisons make?

A medical science liaison is a scientific professional who provides information about their employer's products, such as medical devices, drugs, and treatments. They typically represent their employer to decision-makers in the medical community, also known as "key opinion leaders," as well as to investors and government regulatory agencies.

They may manage a team of scientists while also acting as a liaison with other business units such as marketing, sales, development, quality, engineering, etc. Medical science liaisons are expected to be subject matter experts regarding their therapeutic specialty.

This means that they typically need, at minimum, a master's degree in their field in order to have sufficient training and knowledge to perform the role well. This is one reason why their salaries tend to be high, and the more highly educated a person in this role is, the higher their salary may be.
