Technical/Management Support - This position assists County and public customers with using GIS technology and advises them on how to incorporate GIS analyses into their workflows and decision-making. In addition, the incumbent performs software installation, troubleshooting and other GIS Help Desk services for assigned departments. 4. Fieldwork - This position conducts occasional fieldwork projects to collect geospatial data, including project design, preparation, collection and post-collection processing. 5. Drone Services - This position may be asked to sit for and pass the FAA UAV Certification Exam to become a certified drone pilot in command. It also may participate in scheduling, planning and execution of drone missions in support of County business and to process the resulting imagery for clients using Esri Drone 2 Map and other software from time to time. The primary challenge of this position is the verification of data to ensure accuracy. When there are complex issues affecting multiple years of data and tax base, management will be consulted. Mechanical Analyst - Engineering (DS114) Candidates shall work to support requirements for RFQ198812R Mechanical Analyst DS114 Vinod Patel (Engineering Services) and perform advanced engineering evaluations employing stress analysis, solid and fluid mechanics principles, and heat transfer phenomena to validate the design adequacy of various equipment for normal operation and various accident event conditions. Applications involve both hand computations and computer software including finite element analyses for linear and non-linear components, pipe stress, fluid flow, and pressure vessel design. SRS component design requires the capability to evaluate component structural responses due to thermal-hydraulic pressure transients, vibration, other live loads, wind loads, and seismic events. Design evaluation tasks also include the ability to determine pressure relief valve size requirements for fluid systems and to determine pump size requirements for piping networks. Individuals at times will be required to travel off-Site to interface with vendors, fabricators, and other Engineering organizations. Engineering services will be provided using SRR processes and procedures. Candidate must demonstrate a working knowledge of AUTOPIPE, ANSYS, ABAQUS, PVElite, COMPRESS, or similar computer codes. Candidate must demonstrate a working knowledge of National Codes and Standards such as ASME VIII, API-579, ASME B31, NFPA-13, SMACNA, ASME AG-1, IBC, and AISC. The candidate must have the ability to perform field walk-downs of mechanical systems. Work Hours: A 40-hour workweek is scheduled. SRS utilizes various work schedules; including 5/8s (8 hours/day; five days per week), 4/10s (10 hours/day; four days per week), and a 9/80s (9 hours/day, five days on week A and 4 days on week B). Work week excludes SRR holidays. Each workday has a 30-minute lunch. Area Security Access: A security clearance is not required. EDUCATION: MS or PhD Degree in either Mechanical Engineering or Engineering Mechanics, or a BS Mechanical Engineering and current registration as a Professional Engineer.
