REPORTS TO: Certified School Nurse and Building Principal JOB GOAL: The Health Room Aide's primary goal is to assist the Certified School Nurse or Registered Nurse Technician with school health services program by working within the parameters of a professional license and under the direction of the certified school nurse. PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: Follows the policies and procedures of the Crawford Central School District under the direction of Certified School Nurse to implement the school health services program at the assigned school(s). Provides first aid to sick and/or injured students/staff in accordance with appropriate procedure. Disbursement of medications as prescribed by a licensed prescriber or defined by Certified School Nurse. Assist with yearly mandated health screening (vision, hearing, growth, and scoliosis) at the direction of the Certified School Nurse. Attend field trips with medically compromised students and students requiring medication throughout the school day. Nurse's Office coverage during Kindergarten Registration. Assist the School Physician or Physician's Assistant during school physicals. Nurse's Office coverage while Certified School Nurses are working at Seton Catholic School and Crawford Christian Academy. Notifies the Certified School Nurse and the Principal of any serious illness or injury. Helps during Certified School Nurse or Registered Nurse Technician leave of absences. Respects the confidentiality of student health/medical information. Performs other reasonable duties as are assigned by the School Board or Superintendent for the general well being of the student(s). TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Salary and benefits to be determined in accordance with the employment agreement between the Crawford Central Board of School Directors and the Health Room Aides.
