POSITION SUMMARY
The Golf Operations Aide performs skilled and semi-skilled manual labor and maintenance. May require independent judgment in the disposition of routine matters without direct supervision. Will work under the direct supervision of the Golf Facility Supervisor, Golf Professional, Teaching Professional, etc.
REQUIREMENTS, ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides support for the department. In addition to other duties as assigned, will perform strenuous manual work which does not require a high degree of manipulative skill or previous experience to do an effective job. Many types of work assigned may be repetitive in nature and, once learned, can be performed independently or with limited supervision.
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
Prepares carts for that day's play.
Keeps records of which carts are going out in each group.
Keeps track of which carts made the turn and at what time, to ensure proper pace of play.
Maintains cart shed and golf cart appearance/maintenance (if applicable).
Assists Golf Shop with any duties necessary.
Keeps all golfers and groups in order and teeing off on schedule.
Keeps range ball machine full (if applicable).
Provides daily cleaning and charging of all golf carts.
Fills the gas cart fleet when necessary.
Maintains records of carts out of commission that need to be repaired.
Maintains records of usage and reports to supervisor.
Answers questions and explains rules and regulations when appropriate.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
Basic reading and writing skills
Must be able to work in a standing position for prolonged periods of time (up to 5 hours) and be able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift ups to 25 pounds
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Multi-task oriented
Knowledge of workplace safety procedures

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is not regularly required to sit. The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is required to stand, walk; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Greater than 50 pounds may require team lift. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus. Specific required movements include the following: trunk-bend, twist, rotate, push, pull, and carry, arm's reach and leg-lifts.
