Job Title: After School Program Aide Job Purpose: The After School Program Aide assists in maintaining and appropriate learning environment and providing age-appropriate activities, and contributes his/her talents to create an excellent program and positive experience in the after-school hours for the Charter School students. The After School Program operates separately from the regular school day and educational program at The Academies CMO. The Program serves only those Charter School students whose families opt to participate, and participation is not required or necessary in order for a student to be successful in The Academies CMO's regular education program.
Team Relationship:
The After School Program Aide is directly responsible to the After School Program Coordinator.
Essential Job Functions:
* Responsible for supervising a group of students independently by providing students with a safe, healthy, supportive, engaging environment during the after-school hours.
* Monitors the safety and security of students.
* Supervises students in classrooms, playgrounds, cafeteria, hallways, and study halls.
* Communicates effectively with After School Program Coordinator, Teacher(s) and/or the Principals regarding observed student behavior/progress/needs.
* Keeps accurate records of student participation/attendance.
* Assists students in completing homework in a manner consistent with the Charter School and educational philosophy of The Academies CMO.
* Assists in preparing instructional materials for the after-school program.
* Ensures materials are well-managed and school property is maintained in an orderly fashion.
* Helps the Charter School staff maintain a respectful, safe, and nurturing learning environment.
* Participates in professional development workshops and training as needed.
* Performs other related duties as assigned.
