In this role, you will be responsible for providing a safe and fun environment for dogs/cats in our boarding facility. Your primary focus in this position will be animal husbandry and enrichment.
Duties:
* Provide basic care for dogs, including feeding, administering medications as needed, and occasional bathing.
* Client communication (schedule boarding reservations, take payment for boarding stays, communicate medical concerns as needed, etc.)
* Maintain cleanliness of the boarding facility by regularly cleaning kennels, play areas, and equipment, as well as other areas of the hospital as needed.
* Monitor dog behavior and health, reporting any concerns to management/medical staff.
* Handle heavy lifting when moving supplies or managing larger dogs.
* Ensure all safety protocols are followed to protect both the dogs and staff.
Qualifications:
* Experience in animal care or handling is preferred; previous work in a kennel or veterinary setting is a plus.
* Strong skills in dog handling, including knowledge of animal restraint techniques.
* Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) as required for the role.
* Familiarity with dog training methods and pet grooming practices is beneficial.
