REPORTS TO: Building Principal/Special Education Classroom Teacher/Director of Exceptional Children Services JOB GOAL: To implement the educational programs developed by the Special Education teacher. PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: * Provides assistance for the special education classroom teacher of exceptional students. * Assists the teacher in carrying out specially designed instructional programs for individual students. * Complies with all Federal and State IDEA guidelines. * Assists in classroom assessments, IEP data collection, grading, creating materials, individual and group instruction, and filing activities. * Attend all required professional development and other meetings directly assigned to this position. * Maintains classroom management and academics in the absence of the teacher. * Assists students with technology used in the classroom and across school settings. * Performs and documents necessary medically related services (such as feeding, meal prep, hygiene assistance, medication administration, toileting, etc.) for all students who receive nursing services. * Other duties assigned by school administrators and/or supervising teacher(s). TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Compensation will be determined based on 185 contract days on the board approved 105 salary schedule. This position requires a 7-hour workday. Job Title: Community Habilitation Aide/Adult Day Training Support Staff (DSP) Qualifications: Must be at least 18 years of age with a High school Diploma/GED or 21 years of age with one year of experience in DDID preferred; Submit to and pass a criminal record check and a drug screen test; Valid social security card or valid work permit for non US citizens; Valid driver license with no moving traffic violations. Hours: Monday through Friday 8:00 am until close. Evening and weekend hours may be required. This position reports directly to the Community Habilitation Instructor and/or Program Director. Summary of Job Duties: This position provides support, training and intervention in the areas of self care, daily living skills, social skills, safety skills, communication, etc. in order to enable an individual to participate in and utilize community resources and participate in daily meaningful routines in the community. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Furnish supports in a non-residential setting (excludes family homes, group homes, staffed residences, or the individual's home). This may require transportation of the individual in personal vehicle. Provide supports which enable an individual to: Participate in community projects such as unpaid volunteer positions. Access and utilize community resources such as transportation, translator, communication assistance, and companion services. Provide assistance/training to enable the individual to have optimal access to all parts of the environment. Proper reporting/documentation of medication errors. Recognize an incident and document correctly and properly. Be honest with the individuals. Accurately administer medication. Know side effects of medications. Practice good communication with all staff involved with the individual (Case Manager, Behavior Specialist, Therapist, etc.) Prevent/report abuse, neglect, and/or exploitation. *Staff have a legal responsibility to report any form of abuse (physical, emotional, sexual), neglect, and/or exploitation. Be a team player/form a team with co-workers. Write relevant, factual notes using the appropriate format. Have a positive appearance at all times. Use positive, non-stigmatizing language. Respect all co-workers and individuals. Other duties as assigned. Complete all paperwork/documentation accurately and timely. Maintains confidentiality of sensitive information.
