Exalt Health, an acute rehabilitation hospital, provides an intensive rehabilitation program and admitted patients must be able to tolerate three hours of intense rehabilitation services per day. Focused on caring for patients with complex rehabilitative needs such as stroke, spinal cord injury, brain injury, head trauma, medically debilitation conditions, neurological disorders, cardio-pulmonary amputations, orthopedic injuries, and multiple major traumas.
Position Summary
The Food Service Aide plays an important role in Exalt Health's patient care team, working collaboratively with culinary staff to ensure patients receive nourishing meals that support their recovery. This position requires a combination of food service skills, attention to detail, and a passion for providing excellent service to our patients, staff, and visitors. The Food Service Aide will assist the cook in various tasks, including meal preparation, plating, delivery, and clean-up, ensuring a safe and sanitary environment for all. In this role, you will interact directly with patients, delivering meals with a smile and ensuring their dietary needs and preferences are met. Your ability to maintain a positive and professional demeanor will contribute to a welcoming and supportive atmosphere within the hospital.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Food Preparation: Assist the cook in preparing meals according to standardized recipes and menus, ensuring proper portioning and adherence to dietary restrictions.
Plating and Serving: Assemble patient meal trays accurately, following dietary guidelines and ensuring visually appealing meals. Deliver meals to patients in a timely and courteous manner.
Cafeteria Service: Serve food to staff and visitors in the cafeteria, maintaining a clean and organized serving area.
Dishwashing and Sanitation: Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment according to established sanitation procedures. Maintain a clean and organized work area.

Requirements
Education, Training, and Experience
Hold a current Food Handler's Certification recognized in Texas, Arizona, or Florida.
Experience: Prior experience in food service, preferably in a healthcare setting, is a plus.
