Seeking an Advanced Practice Provider to join the ICU Team at UH Elyria Medical Center. This position will work12 hr. rotating days, nights, weekends and holidays. Nurse practitioners must be ACNP and new grads are welcome to apply.
A Brief Overview
The Advanced Practice Provider is responsible for providing quality care for patients and increasing patient access and satisfaction. Standard tasks to be performed by an Advanced Practice Provider as specified by the Ohio State Board of Medicine or Nursing and UH entity specific Medical Bylaws.
What You Will Do
Partners with Attending to provide 24/7/365 medical and surgical management for critical-care service.
Critical-care duties include managing the comprehensive care of acutely and chronically critically ill or injured adult patients in collaboration with the intensivist physician on duty.
Advanced skills of comprehensive airway management including endotracheal intubations using direct laryngoscopy and video assisted laryngoscopy, surgical airway management including open surgical cricothyrotomy.
Partners with Attending and Respiratory Therapist to manage ventilator, non-invasive positive pressure ventilation, and high-flow modalities.
Invasive procedures to include central lines, peripherally inserted central catheters (PICC lines), mid-lines, arterial lines, tube thoracostomy, dialysis catheters, cooling catheters, and various urinary catheters as indicated.
Selection, implementation, management, and titration of vasoactive drugs, insulin infusions, sedation, and analgesia.
Responds to all full trauma activations in ED, intracranial hemorrhages and aortic syndromes that are being transferred to a higher level of care in the ED.
The above listed critical-care duties require that this position must be certified as an acute care nurse practitioner (ACNP)

Advances own professional development through self-directed learning, continuing education and participation in peer review (5%)

Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.

Master's Degree from an accredited PA educational program (Required)

GENERAL DUTIES:
