SUMMARY:
The Classroom Aide is responsible for assisting and partnering with the Teacher (and Teacher Aide) in developing and implementing a program of activities that promotes the social, emotional, cognitive and physical development of each child enrolled in a group in accordance with Head Start Performance Standards, Wisconsin Child Care Licensing, City of Madison Accreditation and Wisconsin Young Star standards. The duties and responsibilities will be carried out under the direction of the Classroom Teacher.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
Be at least 18 years of age
Must have a high school diploma or GED
Experience working with children ages 3-5 preferably in a licensed child care setting
Must have a warm and friendly personality, be sensitive to the feelings and needs of others and be able to relate well to children, families, staff and community
Demonstrate effective listening, oral and written communication skills
Maintain confidentiality at all times
Adult, Child and Infant CPR certification within 6 months of employment
