Role Summary: We are seeking a dedicated Residential Aide to ensure the safety, security, and well-being of both staff and clients at our work site. The Residential Aide will play a crucial role in maintaining a secure environment by enforcing house rules and operational procedures.
Primary Job Responsibilities/Duties:
The Residential Aide will be responsible for, but not limited to:
Diligently monitor clients, units, dorms, and facilities to ensure the safety and security of each resident.
Enforce shelter policies and follow staff policies and procedures.
Perform essential administrative tasks, including maintaining detailed communication logs, documenting resident activities, behaviors, and engagement.
Provide assistance to clients, addressing questions, and promptly resolving any arising issues.
Thoroughly inspect all items entering the facility to guarantee the safety of clients and staff.
Monitor video footage of common areas such as hallways, staircases, and lounges.
Strictly adhere to safety, health, and fire hazard guidelines, organizational policies, and procedures, as well as the mission and values of the organization.
Conduct regular hourly rounds of the facility.
Report any immediate safety hazards promptly to appropriate supervisory or maintenance personnel.
Collaborate with security personnel to ensure the safety of both staff and residents in the program.
Prepare units for vacancies, including emptying, cleaning, and properly tagging client belongings when necessary.
Document all incident details, participants, actions taken, and outcomes accurately.
Flexibility in scheduling, including the possibility of working evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Physical Requirements:

Program Description:
PHS' Community Health and Nutrition Access Program helps New York residents obtain free or low-cost health insurance coverage, apply for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP, also known as Food Stamps), and through our WIC program, provides nutrition education sessions led by WIC nutritionists on healthy eating and physical activity, breastfeeding support, and eWIC cards to purchase nutritious foods. Our staff members are culturally and linguistically competent and identify with the communities they serve. They help clients navigate through what can be a complicated and confusing application process, step by step. Summary of Position:
Under direct supervision of the Center Manager, the Community Service Aide (CSA) is responsible for all clerical aspects of the job with direct supervision by the Nutritionist. Additionally, the CSA provides financial and residential screenings to WIC applicants to ensure maximum program enrollment and program integrity.
Specifically, the Community Service Aide will:
Welcomes WIC participants to the Center
Provides general knowledge of WIC program and orientation to new participants
Performs client anthropometric and hematological measurements on site to prevent delay in benefits between physician visits
Undergoes annual anthropometric and hematological training on site
Ensures that all WIC participants receive their WIC benefits, with full explanation on usage
