The aide is responsible for assisting the staff with the planned activities and helping lead daily activities.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Assist the site coordinator.
- Support the daily agenda, listening closely to instructions and following them.
- Help coordinator/teachers with lesson and activity plans.
- Make sure you are engaged with the students at all times. Whether it be in a learning game, helping with homework, PE or reading them a book. There is so much to do that no one should be just sitting around.
- NO PHONES. Full attention on the kids/group you are supervising. There are a few minutes when groups are switching so that if you need to make a phone call or send a text, you can do it during this time.
- Help students with homework, art projects or other endeavors, and help students stay on task. Look for opportunities to provide one-on-one help.
- Responsible for tracking working hours using Frontline. As an employee of the district, you will be paid around the 15th of every month.
- Provide a warm and caring atmosphere for participants.
- Monitor student activity so that the primary teacher is not overwhelmed with responsibility.
- Maintain open communication between ASP staff and school personnel.
- Mark days off on the provided calendar, and let Mrs. Kimberling, or the Site Coordinator know either by text or email.
- Maintain a safe environment for participants. Don't initiate hugging or making contact with any of the students enrolled in the program. Keep a professional relationship at all times.
- Attend staff meetings.
- Maintain a positive attitude toward co-workers, the ASP, and the school.
- Report any problems which arise with participants, other employees, or the school to the Site Coordinators.
- Keep the room neat and orderly.
- Clean up the room after program is finished.
- Follow directions and perform work activities as assigned.
- Work closely with co-workers and other employees and set a good example for the participants.

Pay: $16.00 per hour with regular training pay increases at 6 months, 12, months and 18 months. At 2 years, merit raises are provided annually.

Responsibilities:

Immediately report any suspected abuse, neglect, exploitation, or mistreatment of residents, following approved reporting procedures. If in doubt, report.
