Position Overview: We are seeking a Day Care Specialist, Marillac to ensure a safe, secure, healthy, clean, and positive environment for children and families as they make their transition from homelessness through after-care. This full-time position is M-F, 7:30am to 3:30pm
Position Requirements:
Ability to work: Monday-Friday, 7:30am - 3:30pm w/ flexibility to work hours outside of regularly scheduled hours, as needed.
High School diploma (or) GED Equivalent, required; College preferred.
Local travel is required; A current Clean and Valid New York State Driver's License (actively licensed at least one year) is required.
Staff in driving positions must be able to meet agency's minimum requirements of our insurance policy for authorized drivers; including, but not limited to the minimum age of 21 at time of hire.
Proficiency in computer applications: Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel), Google Business Workspace Suite (Gmail, Google Docs, Meet, Sheets, etc.), and use secure Internet practices.
Capable of exercising ethical, independent judgment and discretion, handle sensitive data with strict confidentiality.
Capacity and openness to work with individuals from culturally diverse and economically disadvantaged populations; many with mental health issues, substance abuse and developmental disabilities.
Ability to pass pre-employment background check requirements, including fingerprinting.
Duties & Responsibilities include :
Establish and maintain professional working relationships with residents; maintain appropriate personal boundaries; establish and maintain professional working relationships with staff members, in accordance with all agency procedures, policies, and practices.
Assist with and facilitate recreational activities for children and conduct family-oriented programming.
Provide a safe and therapeutic environment in which children (infants and pre-school aged children) can be cared for while their primary caretaker is absent.
Maintain respect, support, care and a family atmosphere for residents of the facility and fellow staff members
Provide infant and pre-school children with age-appropriate developmental and recreational experiences.
Provide parents the opportunity to develop practical child care skills.
Ensure a safe, secure, healthy, and clean environment be reporting situations which need attention, and providing follow-up, as needed.
Document interactions with families, using critical incident reports, intake information forms, progress note section of case files, log, etc.
Collaborate with various staff members in providing recreational and educational activities and events for children and families.
Respect the rights of others and protect all confidential information.
Intervene in crisis situations and assist with conflict resolution as needed by providing mediation and facilitating communication.
Participate in professional development programming on a regular basis.
Maintain CPR/First Aid Certification.
Clearly communicate concerns and suggestions to supervisor.
Actively contribute to the maintenance of a “client-supportive” and respectful community.
Safeguard and maintain all agency recreational equipment and space.
Supervise families during activities at the facility.
Transport families to planned recreational activities/events.
Additional position-related duties and responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor/ director.

The Bilingual Case Aide is responsible for the safe and timely release of youth once their cases have been approved for release.
Job Responsibilities
Release all youth within 72 hours of case approval
Coordinate with Case Management Team to facilitation of flight arrangements, communication of transportation details, exit packet documentation, and program release from the UAC Portal
Responsible for verifying biographical information prior to unification planning
Plan reunification collaboratively with the Case Manager and the Sponsor
Collection of payment for the purpose of flight arrangements, unaccompanied minor fee and/or hotel reservations
Collaborating with a travel agent and/or airlines to reserve flights for youth and staff as needed
Preparing Exit Packet for youth, including the collection of identifying documents, medical records, legal resources, educational assessments and youth's possessions in care
Complete required documentation as it relates to unification
Process release of the youth via KCare and the UAC Portal systems
Provide copies of all documentation provided to youth at the time of exit and file in the youth's case file
Responsible for the completion of UAC Portal documentation, and maintenance of UC paper and electronic records as it relates to unification.
Communicate with Director of UAC and RTCs to provide staff escorts for unification of youth under 13
Collect and distribute Petty Cash as it relates to releases
Complete Safety and Well Being Follow up Calls 30 days after UC release
Responsible for continued professional development through attendance at in service seminars, participation in conferences and workshops and/or continued study at higher education institutions.
Attend all mandatory training as scheduled, including but not limited to New Hire Orientation, Sanctuary, TCI certifications and CPR/First Aid certifications and must complete 40 hours annually of O.R.R (Office of Refugee Resettlement) training.
Attend and participate in required supervisory and team meetings.
Adheres to agency policies and procedures; follows and supports agency mission, vision and values including participating in internal surveys and data collection for continuous improvement initiatives.

Associates degree in Psychology, Human Services or other related field required; Bachelor's Degree or bachelor's in social work preferred.

Varicella Vaccine required OR titers indicating varicella immunity OR documentation from a healthcare provider verifying previous infection.

TITLE: Floater Aide

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist classroom staff, as assigned, with the implementation of a comprehensive, developmentally appropriate classroom experience in accordance with the agency curriculum and Head Start Performance Standards.
Implement teaching and behavior support practices associated with the Pyramid Model for Supporting Social Emotional Competence in Infants and Young Children.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Education and School Readiness
Assist the Head Teacher and Assistant Teacher in facilitating quality classroom experiences that support SCCDC School Readiness Goals.
Family and Community Engagement
Contribute to a welcoming environment for families through respectful and friendly interactions.
Health & Safety
Incorporate health practices, to include but not limited to, handwashing, toothbrushing, family style meals and toileting into the daily routine of the classroom.
Partner with the classroom team to support the individual health needs of children and families.
Ensure all Health Care and Allergy Plans are strictly adhered to in the classroom. Ensure allergies are posted as required and communicated to all staff assigned to the classroom.
Maintain a safe and clean classroom environment.
Implement the Supervision of Children Procedure to ensure all children are always supervised.
Mental Health & Disabilities Services
Implement appropriate, trauma informed, classroom management techniques, in accordance with the SCCDC Behavior Management Policy.
Work as a Member of the SCCDC, Inc. Team
Represent the agency mission and values in all aspects of your work.
Support the culture of continuous improvement and data driven decision making.
Demonstrate principles of the agency's Trauma-Informed approach when interacting with families, children, and staff.
