Teller County's Department of Human Services is seeking a Case Services Aide II - Intake to act as the first point of contact for reports of suspect abuse and/or neglect of children, youth or adults by phone or in person. This position will perform background checks on adults and children in both Child Welfare and Adult Protection referrals and be responsible for preparing referrals for the RED team process and enter the results of the RED team into the TRAILS or CAPS systems. In addition, you will be responsible for logging referrals for Child Welfare and Adult Protection programs and provide reports to supervisor, determination of eligibility for children and youth in the Child Welfare System.
What You'll Do:
(1) Accepts reports of potential or alleged abuse and /or neglect of children, youth, or adults by phone or in person. Cover Child Abuse/Adult Protection hotline and record referrals into the TRAILS and CAPS systems.
(2) Perform intake duties involving social and medical histories of individual cases as directed.
(3) Provide transportation to clients as needed.
(4) Meet regularly with supervisor, and social caseworkers to coordinate and review case plans; provide immediate information to social caseworkers in response to client crisis or negative change in client behavior.
(5) Participate in team/unit and DHS agency meetings.
(6) Testify in court on client cases as necessary.
(7) Maintain records and statistics on work performed, and other records as required in conjunction with caseworker.
(8) Provide support to the Teller County Conflict Resolution Panel by setting up meetings, mail out letters, attend meetings and type the agendas and minutes.
(9) Perform administrative duties for Supervisors and Caseworkers to include, but not limited to, logging of court orders, preparing cases for electronic storage, filing, copying, filing out routine forms and due diligence reports and letters.
(10) Act as back up to the Case Services Aide - Ongoing. Supervise court-ordered visitations. Coordinate scheduling with parents, foster parents, schools and visitation room availability. Provide Supervisor with a monthly schedule of visits. Document observations and interactions of family members/clients following each visit.
