NOON SUPERVISOR Job Description DEFINITION Under general supervision, to help establish and maintain a safe, calm and pleasant atmosphere on the school grounds and in the cafeteria; to enable students to enjoy group interaction and physical exercise; and to ensure students behave properly and maintain standards of good citizenship. EXAMPLES OF DUTIES Supervises students at playtime and lunchtime and maintains a safe and harmonious atmosphere on the school grounds and cafeteria; supervises students in the hallways, eating areas, rest rooms and all athletic areas of the campus; redirects inappropriate playground behavior; directs movement of groups to and from the playground/cafeteria; organizes students into orderly lines for purchasing food and directs them to assigned tables; helps students develop and observe proper dining habits; assists younger students with use of utensils, when needed; circulates among the tables at mealtime to help children and resolve problems; may wipe table tops between lunch periods; may organize group games and activities; assumes responsibility for playground equipment; alerts administrators and office of any major incidents or problem situations; sends students to the principal or attending teacher in the event of any incident involving physical confrontation; assists students with conflict resolution; directs visitors to the office; takes part in appropriate in-service training programs. QUALIFICATIONS Ability to: Insure safety of children during activities; work with children constructively; maintain objectivity and fairness in helping students resolve problems; be outdoors and remain on feet for extended periods of time; maintain positive student behavior; deal with students of diverse cultural and economic backgrounds. Knowledge of: Behavior modification strategies; conflict resolution techniques; young people's interests and motivations; the English language. Instruct, motivate, safeguard, or assist patients practicing exercises or functional activities, under direction of physical therapists. Record treatment given and equipment used. Administer therapeutic exercises and modalities such as ice, heat, light, ultrasound, or electrical stimulation treatments. Transport patients to and from treatment areas, using wheelchairs or providing standing support. Change linens, such as bed sheets and pillowcases. Secure patients into or onto therapy equipment. Schedule patient appointments with physical therapists and coordinate therapists' schedules. Observe patients during treatment to compile and evaluate data on patients' responses and progress and report to physical therapist. Confer with physical therapy staff or others to discuss and evaluate patient information for planning, modifying, or coordinating treatment. Arrange treatment supplies to keep them in order. Perform clerical duties, such as taking inventory, ordering supplies, answering telephone, taking messages, or filling out forms. Maintain equipment or furniture to keep it in good working condition, including performing the assembly or disassembly of equipment or accessories. Assist patients to dress, undress, or put on and remove supportive devices, such as braces, splints, or slings. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS The primary job duties this position is responsible for achieving are listed in order of importance. Responsible for assisting the licensed personnel in keeping the department running smoothly by performing therapeutic activities within the scope of on the job training and with on-site supervision of a licensed therapist or therapist assistant. Position Summary Provides therapy care to inpatients and outpatients within the scope of documented on the job training and with onsite supervision of a licensed therapist or therapist assistant. Essential therapeutic care includes, but is not limited to moist heat, cryotherapy, massage, ultrasound, electrical stimulation, whirlpool, intermittent cervical/pelvic traction and therapeutic exercise. Performs daily clerical and office duties inclusive of, but not limited to outpatient scheduling, Xeroxing, filing charts and records and placing completed notes in patient charts. Reports to work on time and as scheduled, completes work within designated time. Uses computerized time clock correctly. Attends staff meetings and actively participates, reads and returns all staff meeting minutes. Actively participates in performance improvement and continuous quality improvement (CQl) activities. Demonstrates an understanding of the procedures for reporting and responding to facility emergencies such as fire, and disruption in utilities and hazardous materials spills. Demonstrates knowledge of equipment capabilities, limitations, and appropriate/special applications. Demonstrates the ability to access and use computer systems. Communicates with physicians, administrative staff, co-workers, and patients/families in a respectful and caring manner. Demonstrates a positive professional image; performs responsibilities in a professional manner; demonstrates flexibility in the provision of patient care/service; utilizes a collaborative approach with co-workers. Demonstrates flexibility in the work setting with changing assignments, varying staffing levels and patient care environments, and completes work on time.
