Job Description - Legislative Aide - Office of Senator Finegold (250003V6)
The Legislative Aide is an entry-level position within a Senator's office and may perform routine research, constituent casework, bill tracking, correspondence, office administration or press and public relations functions. This position is supervised by a Senator or by a more senior staff member and work may be reviewed for accuracy, completeness, content, and methods. The Legislative Aide's assignments and responsibilities may vary depending on office needs and Senator priorities. The Legislative Aide reports to the Chief of Staff and more senior staff.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Answer office phones and email, check the mail, receive visitors, order citations, manage Senator correspondence, greet visitors to the State House, and facilitate routine inter-office communications.
Assist constituents in dealing with government agencies to resolve problems related to the receipt of government services. Conduct constituent casework. Create and maintain casework records.
Liaise with citizen groups, agencies, individuals, and other stakeholders.
Maintain the Senator's schedule under the supervision of senior staff, including coordinating State House and in-district meetings for the Senator.
Other Duties and Responsibilities May Include:
Draft written materials related to Senator correspondence, testimony, press releases, newsletters, talking points, or legislation.
Research, track, and analyze legislation and budget items of interest to the Senator.
Monitor committee hearings or floor debates and report legislative action or developments to Senator or appropriate office staff.
Provide staff support to Senator in the state house or district.
Attend events with the Senator or on their behalf.
Monitor newspapers and media for emerging issues and information related to legislative business.
In absence of Senator of other senior staff, act as contact with media or represent Senator at meetings.
Perform other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
One to two years of college or technical school, or, alternatively, at least 2 years of relevant work experience.
Ability to interact, coordinate and work effectively with the public, members of the legislature, legislative staff, and executive branch.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Ability to work cooperatively with legislators.
Knowledge of office computer applications.

Job Summary
The Operating Room Surgical Aide works as an integral part of the healthcare team, responsible for maintaining a safe environment in which quality patient care is delivered. He/she works under the direct supervision of the registered professional nurse, the Pod Leader, and the Operating Room Charge Nurse. The O.R. Surgical Aide is responsible for the transportation of patients to and from the Operating Room and other locations. As needed and directed, he/she assists nursing staff in the rooms with patient care which includes positioning and transfer of anesthetized patients as well as supporting limbs during a surgical skin prep. He/she is also responsible for performing a shave prep of the patient prior to surgery, according to established guidelines, and the delivery of specimens and blood products to and from the Laboratory and Radiology. Other duties include between-case cleaning, the handling of infectious waste, sharps, and maintaining order and cleanliness in the Pods and CSR2 Soiled area. The O.R. Surgical Aide is responsible for maintaining inventory levels of specified stock items in the Operating Room, and the preparation of stretchers and oxygen tanks to see that both are ready and available when needed for patient transport. Prioritization of patient care tasks at hand and communication with health care team members is an important factor in performing the duties of this role.
