Maintains established departmental policies, procedures and objectives, quality assessment and improvement programs, and safety, environmental and infection control standards.
Attends meetings as required.
Participates in education programs and inservice meetings.
Understands and follows “Universal Precautions” as it pertains to potential exposure to all body fluids. Utilizes infection control techniques.
Understands chemicals(s) used in their department under the “Right to Know” standard.
Reports all unsafe conditions to appropriate supervision, including change in patient status, broken or malfunctioning equipment or anything that could be a potential threat, danger to a patient. Practices good safety awareness.
Knowledgeable of Residents Rights and facility Abuse Policies and Procedures.
Performs any other duties and responsibilities that may become necessary or as directed by Supervisor.

Assists in carrying out routine aspects of various physical therapy treatments and procedures predetermined by and under the direction of, the Registered Physical Therapist. Assists with processing of department paperwork and projects. Performs various receptionist and related scheduling and registering functions for outpatient at Rehab Dynamics locations including co pay collection. Appropriately sets up all clients including hot packs, cold packs, and exercise equipment.
Ensures proper setup including proper layering of towels/pillowcases. Provides the patient with a safety call bell and periodically checks on the patient.
Sets a timer and communicates to the therapist when the patient setup is completed.
Maintains clean clinical areas following treatment sessions in a timely manner.
DAILY OPERATIONS
Maintains constant flow of clients by being aware of patient appointment times and arrival of patients.
Checks for patient arrivals independently and does not rely on clerical staff to announce patients presence.
Communicates changes in daily clinic schedule to the appropriate therapist including additions, cancellations, no shows and rescheduled appointments.
Demonstrates good time management of daily duties and prioritizes multiple tasks with minimal supervision. Appropriately asks and accepts assistance when needed.
EXERCISE PROGRAMS
Appropriately notes repetitions including number of sets/reps and weight and time tolerated.
Uses proper exercise training techniques as taught in PT aide in-house training program while carrying out patient exercise programs.
Checks on patients periodically while on exercise equipment or during exercise programs to ensure proper form and monitor any problems.
Communicates to the therapist difficulty level of the program and appropriately suggests any changes in regiment.
