Ensures payments are properly credited or applied to customer accounts and in credit union records or return payments if foreclosure has been initiated or payments are unacceptable. Initiates repossession proceedings by completing paperwork upon reaching 60 days past due. Approve floor bids for repossessed vehicles. Recommends and completes small claims court complaints and post judgment actions including garnishments and supplemental orders. Refers accounts to management for bankruptcy actions. Continues related collection efforts. Performs collections efforts in accordance with Company policies and procedures and ensures they are legally compliant. Documents all collection actions taken, including telephone conversations, alternative financial arrangements, and any correspondence with members. Keeps management informed of activities, progress toward established objectives, and of any significant problems. Investigate and correct discrepancies in loan applications, reviews and analyze credit bureau reports. Determines when to compromise and settle balances and when to initiate foreclosure or repossession proceedings. May lead or direct the work of other team members. Prepare charge-off, bankruptcy, repossession, recovery, and trend reports. Order AVM/BPO/Title Searches as needed for mortgages loans. Verify the status of state and local taxes for mortgage loans. Initiate loss mitigation/foreclosures to ensure conformity with requirements and make recommendation to manager as appropriate. Prepares reports and documentation for the board. Attends and participates in meetings as required. All other duties as assigned by management. QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION: High school graduate or equivalent, some college preferred.
