We need a weather ace to cover lake-effect snow, spring thunderstorms and a broad range of conditions in Northeast Ohio. This is a full-time weather opportunity for a meteorologist from a smaller market gaining experience with a fantastic weather challenge. You'll be forecasting for our four-hour morning news and getting people ready for their day.
We're looking for someone with a meteorology-related degree, who believes in active weathercasting, generating your own forecast, tracking down to the street level and being first with breaking weather.
The meteorologist will forecast for the weekday morning newscasts and multiple digital platforms, with a possibility of doing mid-day newscasts as well.
Our news team produces 11 hours of live news every weekday on 3 network affiliates: WKBN (CBS), WYTV (ABC) & WYFX (FOX) every weekday and 4 ½ hours each weekend day. We have 3 Baron Lynx workstations, 2 studios, 2 control rooms, and 2 sets of anchor teams.

Qualifications:
Minimum 3 plus years of experience in Broadcast Meteorology
Strong Proficiency in The Weather Company “Max” Broadcast Weather Graphics platforms
Familiarity with National Weather Service Products, Websites and Chat
Preferred Qualification:
Basic knowledge of clipping and editing in Adobe Premiere Pro
Required Education:
Bachelor's degree in Meteorology or Atmospheric Science
Must have completed Synoptic 2 Coursework

We are seeking a talented and dynamic Digital Meteorologist to join our innovative weather team. As a Digital Meteorologist, you will be responsible for producing accurate and engaging weather content for multiple platforms. We're looking for someone to write and produce weather stories for our dominate website and app. Shooting and editing videos to tell these stories will be a big part of the job. This person will also produce weather content for a new streaming channel. This could include live interviews in a video podcast style environment. Responsibilities:
Forecast Production:
Develop, analyze, and deliver accurate weather forecasts.

Live Streaming and On-Air Presentations:
Provide live weather reports for streaming platforms, offering on-the-spot updates, severe weather alerts, and detailed explanations of changing weather conditions.
Ability to ad-lib seamlessly during live streams, engaging with audiences while delivering critical weather information in an informative yet conversational tone.
Host and participate in weather-related discussions, interviews, and Q&A sessions with viewers as necessary.
Content Creation for Digital Platforms:
Write clear, concise, and accurate weather stories for the website and social media.
Work with the editorial team to create multimedia weather content (such as video segments, infographics, or interactive maps) for a variety of digital platforms.

Collaboration and Innovation:

Qualifications:
Education: A Bachelor's degree in Meteorology, Atmospheric Science, or a related field.
Experience: Prior experience in meteorology, with a strong background in creating digital weather content. Previous experience in on-air or live streaming roles is a plus.
Skills:
Strong proficiency in weather forecasting, with the ability to interpret and explain complex data.

We are looking for a meteorologist adept in all aspects of meteorology, including forecasting, graphics presentation, digital presentation, and social media. You will be responsible for delivering accurate & compelling weather forecasts with an emphasis on lifestyle forecasting.
Duties/Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Take ownership and execute our First Alert Weather Brand
- Respond urgently to breaking & severe weather events on all platforms, including linear, digital, and social media
- Produce/Anchor weather reports on all platforms in a clear, engaging, and impactful manner
- Lead weather coverage & special weather reports, ensuring accuracy and clarity
- Strong leadership/teamwork is a must as our meteorologists are involved in the newsroom & Community
- Must have a positive attitude; will be an ambassador for the station by making personal appearances at community events
- Be fluent in the latest weather technology
Qualifications/Requirements:
- 5+ years experience as a broadcast meteorologist/weather anchor
- Degree in Meteorology, Atmospheric Sciences, or a related field
- AMS and/or NWA Certified meteorologist is preferred
- Strong on-air presence with excellent storytelling abilities
- Proven experience in severe weather coverage
- Proficiency in weather software, graphics & technology
- Valid driver's license and good driving record
