Students are matched with scientists to conduct original research projects in areas such as cancer biology, chemical biology, computational biology, infectious disease, and more. At the end of the six weeks, students present their research to the community in a scientific poster session. We are looking for an outstanding instructor to serve as a research advisor to a group of 18 high school students taking part in BSSP. RESPONSIBILITIES ● Work closely with BSSP staff to implement program initiatives ● Meet with scholars one-on-one every week to discuss project goals and clarify concepts related to their research projects ● Help foster relationships between scientific mentors and scholars, including advising mentors about project structure and addressing any difficulties students might be having ● Teach an introductory laboratory session based on an established workshop to teach students basic wet lab techniques ● Help students design and deliver scientific posters ● Attend occasional evening social activities ● Opportunity to develop additional programming addressing themes such as college applications, scientific careers, and scientific communication QUALIFICATIONS ● Master's degree in biology, microbiology, cell biology, or other relevant scientific discipline required.     Theatre at the Mount is currently seeking qualified instructors/directors for our Broadway Bound summer program. The successful candidates will be responsible for directing, music directing, and choreographing a "theatre for young audiences" production, using a conservatory approach to teaching acting, music, and dance. The instructors will be responsible for implementing the curriculum and learning experiences in acting, music, and dance for students in grade two through high school. Under the Senior Director, instructors will oversee all production and technical elements, including lighting, set design, props and sound, ensuring the highest production values. Instructors/directors will provide students with a safe environment to nurture age-appropriate social and emotional skills in a summer program setting and will also mentor and oversee volunteer teen counselors in the program. Responsibilities: * Organize, develop, and lead classes in acting, music, and dance; * Direct, music direct, and/or choreograph a "Theatre for Young Audiences" show; * Oversee all production and technical elements including lighting, sets, props, and sound; * Complete other assigned operational tasks before and after the class as directed; * Provide fun and educational experiences indoors and/or outdoors for all students; * Identify and respond to student's needs, concerns, and behavioral issues; * Communicate with parents regarding the student's experiences and daily activities; * Report a student's concerns to the Senior Director; * Oversee and mentor teen volunteer counselors. * Know, understand, and enforce all policies and emergency procedures associated with the Broadway Bound program and MWCC. Faculty & Student Support (20% of time) In coordination with the Program Lead, assess and enhance instructional quality of courses by offering follow-up coaching to part time faculty across the Northeastern network for courses assigned to him/her. Assisting the program in the onboarding of new part time faculty across the Northeastern network for courses assigned to him/her and maintaining ongoing communications and mentorship to gauge engagement within the program.
