The successful candidate will be well prepared to become a leader in teaching introductory and intermediate math classes, and will actively engage with undergraduate students both inside and outside of the classroom. Such leadership and engagement may include developing new or updated curricula, mentoring research projects, effecting pedagogical innovation, mentoring teaching, or organizing introductory courses with multiple sections. We invite candidates to describe ways in which their leadership could contribute to the department in their cover letter. The tenant of the position will be expected to be an engaged member of the department and of the profession. The teaching load for this position is three courses per semester, consisting primarily of introductory and intermediate classes. This position is not eligible for tenure, but it is eligible for promotion to Associate and Full Teaching Professor and for renewal with progressively longer-term contracts. Teaching Professors at Wake Forest are eligible for all of the same professional rights and resources afforded tenure track faculty except research leaves. This includes professional development support, such as departmental and college travel funds.
The department has twenty-eight faculty members. We offer B.A. and B.S. degrees in Mathematics and B.S. degrees in Applied Mathematics. We also have a mathematics minor. The department has a graduate program offering an M.S. in Mathematics with both a thesis and non-thesis option. In addition, the department currently supports five postdoctoral positions which are mentored by our permanent research faculty. The primary responsibility of part-time faculty is to provide quality instruction to students.
The part-time faculty teaching load is defined as 1-15 contact hours per week for each of the fall, spring and summer terms.
The teaching load assigned to a part-time instructor should not exceed 15 contact hours per term.

New Hope's Education Department has an immediate opening for a PAES Lab Instructor. This position is grant-funded and hired through Kelly Services, independently of New Hope. This position is not a New Hope position and does not include New Hope benefits or offer overtime pay.
Summary: The PAES Lab Instructor provides a safe and therapeutic learning environment for residents. He/She engages students in activities such as the PAES Lab System, WorkKeys, online career and college readiness programs, and remote volunteer opportunities to promote career and educational development of residents. The Vocational Instructor will also conduct appropriate assessments to gather data for the development of Individualized Educational Plans and Transition Plans.
