Sales Support Manager - Technical Sales
Your role and responsibilities
The successful candidate will operate as the support to the Field Application Engineer (FAE) for the Electrification business of ABB. In this role you will learn about consulting engineer, end user, EPC and design build customers, and how FAE's drive to position ABB products and solutions into a preferred/ acceptable manufacturer status in project specifications. The Associate FAE will be tightly integrated with the local sales team and will learn about applying MV/LV switchgear, switchboards, panelboards, transformers and arc flash mitigation technologies in various markets such as healthcare, data center, industrial, utility and commercial construction. In this role, you will have the opportunity to designing promotional strategy in line with the sales strategy. Each day, you will ensure the planning and timely execution of promotional activities with appropriate technical content for the assigned target audience. You will also showcase your expertise by leading, developing, and coaching the Technical Design and Promotions team proactively and ensuring a high level of technical knowledge. You will join a talented, high performing team, where you will be able to thrive. You will be mainly accountable for: • Aligning the promotional strategy and activities plan with the sales strategy and sales activities plan. • Ensuring that the Promotions team supports the Sales organization by providing on-time and quality technical support and technical training to the target audience resulting in high customer satisfaction. • Creating business opportunities by providing support and fostering collaborations with key decision-makers, both within buying and non-buying segments. • Providing support to customers, particularly consultants, engineering firms, and architect offices, in project development and technical problem- solving. • Learn who the key consultants, end user, utility and EPC/DBC engineers are in the territory and their electrical project needs. Work with FAE's to understand & supply design assistance required, product selection, value engineering, budgeting & required education on ABB solutions to gain acceptance of the same into project specifications. • Learn how to review and evaluate project specifications and end-user customer requirements with existing FAE's on the local team to understand electrical solutions including one-line electrical diagrams, schematic diagrams, lay-out & equipment drawings, equipment specifications and project budget pricing for low and medium voltage applications. • Learn the following products and applications: MV/ LV switchgear, switchboards, panelboards, transformers, motor control, power monitoring, uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), automatic transfer switches (ATS), paralleling switchgear (PSG), generator circuit breakers and others. • Learn short circuit, coordination and arc flash mitigation concepts, and the ability to illustrate their benefit via tools such as SKM or Easy Power. • Accountable for creating and or editing presentations for Lunch & Learns to be delivered by FAE's. • Attendance of Trade shows, seminars, conferences as necessary to learn the industry. • Become efficient in SFDC including dashboard and reports. • Establish comfort as a public speaker; comfortable developing and articulating technical concepts to engineers, contractors and users. • Support FAE's with project layouts, drawings and budgets as needed. • Prepare data needs for FAE Region leader. • Be willing to travel ~15-25% of the time but ability to visit customers in local area. Qualifications for the role
* B.S. degree in engineering or similar field; preferably electrical
* Preferred experience in the electrical distribution industry.
* Fluent in English; speaking and writing.
* Proficient use of Microsoft Word, PPT, Excel, Visio.
* Any previous field, plant or design engineering in electrical power systems or industrial facilities a plus.
* Basic knowledge of industry codes and standards; ANSI, IEEE, NEC, NEMA, NFPA 70E, UL preferred.

Job Overview:
The Field Service Technician for Ingersoll Rand's Compression Systems and Services Division serves customers by installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining all makes of rotary screw and reciprocating and/or Centac and ECC air compressors, along with additional compressed air system components. You will use precision measuring tools for diagnostic troubleshooting of compressed air equipment. In addition, you need to have knowledge of all operations and parts manuals associated with all equipment.
Responsibilities:
In addition to performing preventative maintenance on Ingersoll Rand compressed air equipment, our service techs will interact with customers to address existing and unanticipated equipment concerns. Collaborate with Service Coordinator on ordering and gathering parts and supplies necessary to complete installations and repairs. All service technicians will assist and train apprentices and Field Service Technicians.
•Effectively communicates verbally and in writing with customers and co-workers.
•Provides technical assistance on equipment pre-commissioning and start-ups, installations, and repairs of compressed air systems. Including “hands-on” work to assure equipment operates to customer's requirement with limited guidance from the Master Technician.
•Increases Ingersoll Rand customers awareness of how Ingersoll Rand products, services, and solutions, such as Preventative Maintenance, Diagnostics, Audits and Leak Detection can benefit their operations.
Requirements:
•2 years+ experience of troubleshooting industrial/commercial mechanical systems.
•Must possess a valid driver's license for a minimum of 12 months, with no major or frequent traffic violations including, but not limited to: DUI in the previous 5 years, Hit & Run, License Suspension, Reckless/Careless Driving or multiple smaller infractions or preventable collisions in the previous 3 years.
•Every service technician is required to be on-call, but you will not be on-call for the first 90 days to get used to the schedule. This is shared with every service tech, and it requires being available 24/7 for the 1-week duration where you will go to customer sites. On-call weeks can be as often as every 4 weeks or greater than 4 weeks, but that will be determined by the hiring manager.
•This position is highly physical and requires regular use of hands, fingers, walking, stooping, and kneeling. It requires employees to regularly lift and or move weight limits in line with the safety policy.
•High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Core Competencies:
•Able to read wiring schematics and diagrams for all equipment.
•Advanced network systems installations (IMMC/ASC, X Series Automation).
•Basic vibration troubleshooting.

Compression Technologies & Services is hiring for an Area Operations Leader to join our team. This position is responsible for providing the leadership for all activities in the value stream process from the time the customer center receives the PO for an equipment or services sale through PO closure. This position has responsibilities to all processes within that oversight, including service coordination, DSOR, MDI, order management, parts inventory and shipment, inside sales, invoicing and collections, and customer satisfaction for 3-9 customer center locations within a defined region.

* Ensure the correct installation, maintenance, and field repair of the equipment manufactured and sold by Ingersoll Rand at the purchaser's location.
* Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the field installation and repair requirements of this equipment.
* Provide technical advice and be able to train customers, potential customers, field salesmen, and field service trainees.
* Diagnose problems, recommend corrective action in this unsupervised environment and submit clear, accurate records and/or oral reports to the manufacturing facility.

Basic Qualifications

For this U. S. based position, the expected compensation range is $96,000 - $144,000 per year, which includes base pay and short-term incentive. The compensation range for this full-time position applies to candidates located within the United States.
Our salary ranges are determined by reviewing roles of similar responsibility and level.
Within the salary range, individual pay is determined by several factors including performance, knowledge, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

· Conduct field investigation of mechanical systems with the intent of identifying energy savings opportunities and condition of MEP systems.
· Assist in preparing technical audit reports.
· Perform engineering calculations including building loads, air and water static head pressure, ventilation rates, psychrometric analysis.
· Size, select, and schedule heating and cooling equipment including packaged equipment, air handling equipment, condensing units, pumps, boilers, and chillers.
· Aid in preparing schematic sketches, drawings, details, and reports of mechanical systems to accomplish the goals and objectives of projects.
Mechanical systems include HVAC, building automation, plumbing, chilled water, heating water and steam generation and distribution, natural gas, medical gas, compressed air and fire protection systems.
· Provide support of technical decision making for engineering, in conjunction and coordination with the lead engineer and project manager.
· Support construction administration for projects, as assigned.
· Comply with project plan to ensure scope, schedule, budget and expectations (SSBE) corresponds with team expectations.
· Ensure conformance to office and industry design standards and codes.
· Coordinate and prioritize workload to ensure project deadlines are met.
· Develop and maintain positive relationships with internal and external clients.
This job might be for you if: · Four-year accredited engineering degree · 2-10+ years relevant work · Intermediate understanding of building systems and energy use · Intermediate verbal and written communication skills including, but not limited to, the ability to listen effectively and solicit input from others · Intermediate ability to use Microsoft Office programs · Experience with HVAC design calculations including, but not limited to, airside and waterside pressure loss, ventilation rates, and basic load calculations · Experience in heating and cooling equipment selection · Familiarity with International Building Council codes relevant to mechanical systems, and ASHRAE standards and guidelines · Organizational skills including, but not limited to, the ability to handle multiple demands and assignments, and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively and efficiently · Engineer-In-Training (EIT) certification · Professional Engineer License (preferred but not required) The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the primary duties of this job.
